And no one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky....
  • Saying Iran will cause a second holocaust is about as stupid as comparing Bush to Hitler.

If there is anything going on even close to the Holocaust, it is what is happening in Darfur... But of course their aren't any resources that we need in Darfur, so we will pretty much turn our backs while that genocide is going on.

why can israel have a nuclear programm? they also have nuclear weapons as well.. why?
It's simple. Same reason as Britain and France can have them. We know they wont be used against US genius. And we also can have complete confidence that Israel has no rogue Islamic elements willing to sell or give nuclear weapons to terrorists. Simple enough?

can i criticize Israel without being labeled anti-semitic? if yes how

if no ..is it because the state is a theocracy ?

It's because you are not informed. If you were correct on anything id agree. But to call a country you know nothing about a theocracy just shows the levels of your ignorance. Have any of you armchair middle east experts even been to the region? Ever been to Israel? If not, id suggest you shut the fuck up. Your making yourself looks stupid. Israel is by no means a theocracy. Its citizens are primarily Jewish. But that does not make it a democracy. Is Italy a theocracy because all Italians are Catholic and the Pope is in Rome?

    Pope is in Rome?

The Pope is in the Vatican which is technically not part of Italy. Just thought I would throw that out there since we are trying to stick to the facts.

Maybe not at our request, but at least with our support...

    From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._support_for_Iraq_during_the_Iran-Iraq_war

On 9 June, 1992, Ted Koppel reported on ABC's Nightline that "It is becoming increasingly clear that George Bush Sr., operating largely behind the scenes throughout the 1980s, initiated and supported much of the financing, intelligence, and military help that built Saddam's Iraq into [an aggressive power]" and "Reagan/Bush administrations permitted — and frequently encouraged — the flow of money, agricultural credits, dual-use technology, chemicals, and weapons to Iraq.”

hey butterball, when the president of a country says he wants another country wiped off the map, I'll take his word for it. especially when there is deep seeded hatred for that country.

Hey 16 year old, Despots do this sort of crap all the time. Its called propaganda. He may want to attack, but there's no way he will do it. Its just a rallying cry to bolster Iranian conservatives. Iran is a divided place, and ahemenijad is keeping his base rallied. But he won't do it for the same reason that Russia and the states never did it. Mutually assured destruction. There's a will, obviously, but there is also reality, and reality is a bitch. There's no way they will do it with the USA in existence, and Israel will nuke em right back if they are attacked anyways. The only way it could happen is if everyone involved chose to go out in one massive blaze of glory. That's just not going to happen. He may want it, but its not going to happen.

I actually agree with this. The bigger concern is his ability to slip a nuke or two to terrorists. That is something we should all be concerned about. If your not, your just in abject denial. From a strategic standpoint no Arab country would benefit from a nuclear strike on Israel unless it were on Tel Aviv alone. They would never strike Jerusalem because it is holy to them. And the place is tiny. For god's sake the whole country can be driven from one end to the next in 7 hours. Any attack on Israel would surely also kill tens of thousands of Arabs or more.

Like you said in another thread, I think Ahmadinejad is just be antagonistic with his threats. I don't think he will be at the helm for far too long. In recent elections his party lost a lot of seats in their government. I believe that the majority of Iranians have no desire to start some regional holy war that would only lead to their destruction. We, as well as our allies, need to focus and supporting his opposition instead of bombing him to the stone age.
