Only if you think you're also old enough to get a job and support yourself independently.

Who am I kidding? I'm 21 and I still don't have a job or support myself indepedently.

As long as yer a conservative, sure.
All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

you're able to be sent to war in 2 years? well, then you can vote in 2 years. your focus at this point should be getting laid. if you'd rather be standing in a voting line for an hour rather than home formulating a strategy for getting laid, then there is something wrong with you. also, I think the driving age should be raised to 21 because most of the younger drivers I've observed are downright scary.

raise the voting age to 21 when the human brain is fully developed. most 18 year olds vote for who they "like" and ignore who is qualified.

I'm 16, and I agree with raising the driving age to 18, but lowering the voting age to 16.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

Then increase the age at which men may be drafted to 21.

like the wise grandfather in little miss sunshine said... "you should be gettin that young stuff now!"

i think everything should be 19. 19 you vote, drink, gamble, smoke, fight, whatever. at 19 you become an adult and no more of this bullshit divisions. driving is the only thing id keep younger, becos as scary as young drivers are, the thought of kids teaching themselves to drive without parents is worse.

you say that like most adults dont do the same thing... most kids dont vote and the ones i know who do put more thought into it than most adults i know. maybe cos they're still young enough to think it matters and find it exciting, whereas the adults seem to only do it out of habit and mindless devotion to their team... sorry, i mean party.

Or maybe just not do it.

Hey I'm for it. If it means more people who are going to actually vote.

Hah, good point. Young people generally don't vote, but if they're already in school that day, might as well!

i dont think those types put out so easy. on the flipside, ive never met a single catholic who goes more than once a week except the grade school kids who have to go twice. besides, even great freaky sex isnt worth putting up with a devoutly religious nut.

i agree and not only that they vote for who there parents to tell them to vote for.its the same with people who vote just cause they can, id rather have people not vote then people waste a vote for someone they dont have a clue bout. alot of young people voted for kerry in 04 cause it was the cool thing to be anti-bush and all. i voted for kerry cause i truly thought he was a better leader, not cause mtv/rock the vote said there was gonna be a draft

perhaps the best thing to end this war would be to bring the draft in. then all the people who couldn't be naffed about what's going on would be up in arms and out on the street cause they realise they, or their kids could be sent to iraq or any other country washington has its eye on.

good point and i agree with it, but thats why there will never be a draft. the neo cons and oil man know that would happen and would lose alot of money cause of it.

I am more inclined to agree with soulsinging about needing one age requirement to determine when you are legally an adult. I don't necessarily agree with 19, but I haven't put much thought into it though.

One of my biggest reasons is that how can a person make the very serious decisions to elect a president and enlist in the military to go to war, yet they can't buy an alcoholic beverage? That is absurd and makes absolutely no sense at all.

Oh, another big one that gets me is charging kids as an adult for crimes they have committed. I've seen kids as young as 12 be charged as an adult. Granted, these cases are usually more heinous, but still it goes against the principal of having an age (or ages in the case for most places) that determines when a person is an adult.

growing up I never understood why there were so many different laws regarding the "legal age"

now that I have passed those limits, I still don't understand why there are so many laws and it doesn't make any more sense
