Pearl Jam = Tattoo You

So I'm just dropin a mix of some Stones onto a friend of mine...and I realize that Pearl Jam, being about 16/17 years into their career, is right about where the Stones were when they put out their last 'Classic' album, Tattoo You....

Now PJ are also older than the Stones were at that point in their career, which means PJ can't afford to waste the next 15 years (Although, I personally am down with later day Stones)...not that they would...but I just mildly panicked when I realized that after Tattoo, they released 'Undercover' and 'Dirty Work'....So if PJ self titled disc was their Tattoo You, lets hope they don't come out rockin disco tunes about Nigeria...

Anyway. I'm up too late for making sense...but it's funny to think of PJ at 17....I saw Petty back in the day when they were celebrating their 15th year of being a band...and I saw them in 06 celebrating 30 years of being a band...

Here's to a new PJ disc, and 15 more years...!

Hopefully 24 years (2030?) after Pearl Jam, the band will release an album as good as A Bigger Bang, I mean Ed will only be like what, 67-68?
    32 shows and counting...

I like the early Stones... but loved the Stones from 'Beggar's Banquet' (1968) to 'Exile On Main Street' (1972). After 'Goat's Head Soup', they put out marginal stuff... til 1978 when 'Some Girls' was released. That was a great album (which I attribute to the addition of Ron Wood from Faces)... but, it was the last Stones album I liked. I moved on from there.

And a bit off topic... but the reason why the Beatles are considered to be in a league of their own was due to the fact that their entire catalog (that ranges from 'She Loves You' to the masterpiece that is the Side Two Abbey Road medley) was accomplished in 7 years and before they all reached the age of 30 (John and Ringo were 30).
