obviously, even if he missed 1/3 of the votes they used to weigh in with for this rating...they obviously had enough info to STILL come up with the findings they did.

i also didn't mean to suggest that whatever issues he managed to miss out on voting didn't matter, but rather...i fail to see why they matter in relation to this article. obviously, they must use some sort of scale in their ratings to accommodate for that b/c otherwise the findings would be skewed, and that doesn't sound like the case....so the most have weight factors built in, and they already mentioned there is a threshold for missed votes, thus why mccain couldn't even be considered.

beyond that, i do not comment on what other people post/say here, i certainly don't read every thread/post....so i have NO idea what m2h or anyone has posted in any specific thread at any given time....and i do not believe any of my posts have 'defended' any of his comments.

my comments in this thread....are about THIS thread, this topic, this specific article. as mentioned, having problems with obama's record is one thing, but really has zero to do specifically with THIS article is all. those were the only points i commented on. i find the information in the article to be fair. if you want to debate anything, i think it would be the HOWs of their rating scales, how they arrive at their assessments, and what are they utilizing for this information to come up with such assessments. as i said, to me, it's simply slapping on a label, and doesn't "prove" much, little to no value...unless someone arbitrarily places value on the words of 'liberal' in their thought process. liberal or conservative, both words in reality, rather innocuous.....and both can be positive and negative depending on their usage.....so don't much matter.

as to VG...i know ages and ages ago she DID mention obama's book, but in wht context i have no idea. haven't seen her here in AGEs eiter to ask for any clarification, and i'd not read his books so cannot offer any assessments. i think BU2? might've read em?
    Stay with me...
    Let's just breathe...

I am myself like you somehow

  • Forgot to mention
    from the CFR website

    Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Sen. Obama (S-IL) has taken a strongly pro-Israel tone in addressing the conflict. In a speech before AIPAC in March 2007, Obama said the United States must “strengthen the hands of Palestinian moderates” and isolate Hamas. Haaretz U.S. correspondent Shmuel Rosner said that before AIPAC, Obama “sounded as strong as Clinton, as supportive as Bush, as friendly as Giuliani.”

If elected, Obama says he would “insist on fully funding military assistance to Israel" (JPost) and continue to cooperate with Israel on the development of the Arrow missile defense system.

    also

In a August 1 speech, Obama called for a greater counterterrorism focus on Afghanistan and the tribal region of Pakistan. With regards to Pakistan, he indicated that under his leadership, “if we have actionable intelligence about high-value targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will.”

He's going to drop the bombs, deploy the troops, and cook some terrorist ass...Iran...Iraq....Pakistan...Afghanistan... where ever it's needed...Obama will seek and destroy.

Sorry dude, I forgot what board I was on I guess. Another board I post on they go out of their way to paint Obama as some radical leftist who will bring socialism mainstream. I've been spending too much time there apparently.

    Again, sorry.

Can I have the link to that board? Sounds like more intelligent discourse
