You are correct -- Greenville, SC Sept 4, 1998.

Although in 2003 they were in Charlotte on April 16th so I'm sure many South Carolinians were able to make it to that show as they were just a short ride away on 77 or 85.

I ask because I'm always curious when they play a city/state they either haven't ever been to or haven't played in a very long time.

I saw them in Calgary in 05 and they put on a hell of a show after not playing the city in about a decade.

I know everyone has their theories and this is one of mine.

to my knowledge they have never played Columbia.

I remember in 96 they played charleston and i tried desperately to get tickets but it sold out too quickly. Back in the day of using the phone to call in for tickets....

What they *need* to do is come to my little town down in the southeastern part of the state and play the activity pavilion/gazebo in the park across from my house.

Seriously, though, it was such a nice surprise to see Columbia on the list.

  • I was at that Greenville show in '98. It was at the Bi-Lo Center.

They opened with Oceans and had moving images of water rippling on the stage backdrop during the song. It was amazing.
