3rd Party Debates

Why don't all of the 3rd party candidates hold their own debate? The last 3rd party candidate to actually take part in a Presidential debate was Ross Perot in 1992 because he had a very strong following and ended up getting nearly 20% of the vote. I understand people are upset that Nader cannot, and will not be able to take part in the Presidential debates. However his argument is fairly weak in my opinion since he consistently polls at less then 3%, even at his peak of popularity. Just because you are running for President does not earn you a spot on the big stage debate, if that were true they would have to allow all of the 3rd party candidates into the debates. If yiou had enough suppport they would have to let you in, like they had to let in Ros Perot.

So why dont the 3rd party candidates organize their own debates. Especially in the 21st century world of "youtube" and other alternative media outlets they would not even have to be televised by a major network. There is nothing stopping the Green party, The Libertarian party, the Constitution party, etc from organizing their own debate to get their ideas and issues out there for everyone to see. Start to build their own forum, instead of complaining they cannot get access to the major debates, even though they have little to no support to back up WHY they should be allowed into the debates.

Kind of like the USFL in the 1980's. It was an alternative football league started by people that could not afford to get ownership in NFL teams, so they started their own league. They lured in GREAT players from college with big paychecks. The league ended up folding, but ALOT of those players then entered into the NFL. And some of them went on to become some of the best players of their era, such as Bruce Smith and Steve Young.
