Hi i come from Greece, yesterday Saturday night a fifteen yearl old boy got shot dead by a police officer in Athens. It was no accident. According to witnesses the police officer raised his hands, aimed and pulled the trigger. Where is the logic which suppose to guide human behaviour, what is the meaning when a young man who went out with his friends return home in a bodybag, which evil ideas pushed the police officer to execute a young boy ? There are times that I just feel that innocence is a privilege which can’t allow to ourselves

That' s right, it's very attractive the idea of turning the whole place upside down, it's a feeling of a lot of people here after the death of the fifteen year old boy, while all this tv channels and politicians have taken andvantage of all this in their own way

From what i understand the young man was throwing rocks at a police car and one of them just got out and fired on him? What an awful waste of a young life.

No, no, no, that's not what happened, there are many eye witnesses and say that noone threw any rocks at the cops. The young boy was at a cafe, when the police car was pasing outside the cafe there were a group of young men who exchanged bad words with the cops. The young boy went out to see what was going on. The police officers parked the car, they got out of the car, and one of them got his gun out aimed and fired. There were no rocks throwing at the cops, there was no threat at the cops, they were not in a danger, there is also a video which confirm that nobody was throwing rocks at the cops

There were a group of teenagers 15-18 years old, when they saw the police car they started to exchange words with the cops,we all have been teenagers and we know how it is, the poor kid was inside a cafeteria and went outside to see what was happening. The cops parked the car and started saying to the kids "i will f...k you," and things like that, when one of them pulled out the gun and shot the kid right in the chest. It's madness because almost 48 hours after this, some minutes before another pollice officer pulled out the gun and shot in the air and there is a picture in the newspappers of another cop who is aiming with his gun. What the f..k are these people doing?

Maybe you should go riot, and punish others for the bad judgement of one cop.

Sad story, but the reaction by the public to it is not justified.. I guess thats what happens when teens filled with angst and hormones feel oppressed.

Sorry for the insensative reaction. Maybe its because this crap happens all the time here in the states.

How else can people stand up to authority? that is the power of the people, massive public protest. that may be the ONLY way to ensure the authority doesn't get away with too much. If they sit back and do nothing shit like this will only happen again.

The people need to remind the state where the power lies, especially after things like this.
  • Whatever happened, the cop had not the right to shoot.. even the right to have a gun with him!

Also it is not right to wish for someones daeth even if he's a cop..

About the rioting, the boy's death was just the reason for people to express the anger to a series of crimes. And the death af a young boy realy awakes you.. makes you look around and say no more..

I just wish we had another reason..

  • Yes, by destroying people's property and injuring people really shows the government who is boss.

Just another idiotic display of stupidity. What ever happen to peaceful unorganized protest…...or better yet, a court to decide the fate of the guilty? Why is ok for some people to use violence for protest?

    Another double standard……

The only thing these riots are doing is punishing the citizens of Greece, not their government
    .
  • I agree with you. Maybe i wasn't so clear.. There are always many ways to express your discontent.. Peaceful ways.

When i said about 'people now are awake', i didn't mean the riots, but thousands of other people who are demonstrating peacefuly.

Everybody has the right to protest. No one has the right to kill, or destroy something which doesn't belong to him.

well said and i agree with your statement fully. people have lost their minds attacking the innocent shop owners. here is a noble idea.....if you dislike the police, riot on the police station.

wait....we cannot do that, that would be a different approach.
