My local cable company decided not to have Fox news in their service due to the rate increases implemented by this news channel. They were replaced by BBC world. LOL.

Now I hate fox news, i think they are very missleading and untrustworthy but I admit that i did watch it just for humorous purposes. alas i wont miss them at all:)

Let's just hope that other cable companies jump on that bandwagon!

Good news eh! At least with BBC world you'll get real world news, not just news about another state or something.

So they dropped one extremely biased station that cares not for facts and replaced it with another? Big deal. Same shit, different letters.

i wouldn't even know if my cable company still carries Fox News. I don't watch it nor do I watch CNN or MSNBC. I usually watch BBC or just read the paper in the morning.

Is there a news station that isn't biased? seriously. I would love to get my news without any spin.

I like BBC. It still has some bias but no where near the amount you see in American media outets.

  • Yay!!! Hopefully we can eventually narrow it down to just CNN so we can all sit around and watch terrorists snipe U.S. Marines all day every day.

And ask ourselves how they wound up there to be sniped.

Loved it..it was great. I guess that makes me a liberal. Amazing how some people think and sad that we have someone in office who relies on those peoples vote to get into office. Says a lot about the state of this country.

I have a better idea. Let's all sit around and watch the Lehrer NewsHour where they present calm and relatively balanced discussions of complicated issues. Sure, a study recently showed that they tilt slightly to the right, but at least they have conversations rather than shouting matches.

But that would be too boring, wouldn't it?

I don't believe I've ever seen it. Though I will DVR it and give it a shot.

It's on your PBS station -- it's not scintillating, but you'll learn a lot. I do every night.

Are you going to force me to watch Tavis Smiley as well?

Alright, I really have to get on this sandwich.

I've never heard anyone compare Lehrer to Tavis Smiley.

You really need to get out more.

I was wondering about that myself. I tried to post in it but I was about a minute too slow.

perhaps you could PM a mod and ask prior to calling people stupid...perhaps...
  • One thing that's always blown me away in American news is the amount of editorializing as they give the news. Years ago they used to separate the two and let the viewer know that what's being said was merely someone's opinion. Some have suggested that Fox news has deliberately taken this tack and used it to their advantage with regard to certain viewpoints.

breakfast tacos this morning...and lo and behold they had Fox News on the TV. My jaw dropped...some Republican went on the entire 15 minutes on how the Democrates are Liberals and they don't support or respect the troops. They showed pictures of troops and with their families. They squeezed in the words Liberal, Democrates and not "Respecting the Troops" in every sentence....and all these repugs were watching eating the tacos that the Illegals made for them.....like a freakin Jerry Springer show.

but you can't compare BBC and PBS News with Fox. At least they attempt to give the news....Fox really should be barred from using the word "News" in any form in programs or advertising..including taking it off of web address...should be http://www.fox/republican/propaganda.com
