As Spike Lee just pointed out about the different rallies. McCain's campaign was pretty much ONLY white. Obama's campaign rallied everyone... white, brown, black, gay, straight... everyone! Why has nobody represented everybody before?
The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
Chicago 07? And love

Spike Lee knows that people besides Black people actually exist? Cool. Who knew?

Anyhow, yes ... The perception seems to be that non-Whites cannot vote Republican.

Spike Lee should concentrate more on making a decent movie than on the demographics of each party's base.

that's how it looks from over here :o have the republican's ever represented anyone other than white, straight, people? How has such a party been in power for 8 years? In such a diverse country?

I think one of the main differences is that Democrats usually see barriers and Republicans see opportunities.
The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

  • There are plenty of white racist democrats, believe me. I've known many.

You wanna know the difference between a democrat and a republican?

One rallies behind blue banners, and the other rallies behind red banners. That's pretty much it.

one very obvious thing i noticed, and i am sure many did as well: looking out at the crowds at each then-candidate's gatherings, what completely DIFFERENT demographics! mccain's camp: predominantly white, male and middle aged. obama camp: all colors of the rainbow, all ages, both genders well represented. granted, i realize chicago is much more diverse than phoenix, but none the less.....it speaks volumes to me.

    :D

however, i truly do not believe to be a republican vs. democrat issue, even if possibly the rest of the world sees it as such. i think it had a lot more to do with the candidates and their messages than simply party lines. i am and will always be an independent.
    Stay with me...

Diversity has finally taken center-stage. We may have our flaws, but I think most people are tired of segregation. To see this country join together as a whole and with such a large margin, says a great deal.

I don't think that Democrats can continue to promote a socialist atmosphere because resources are being limited. That fact in itself will accentuate more conservative choices fiscally. I think that overall American's are becoming more frugal. In essence, the divide
    is an illusion...

Laugh if you want, but it's true. Examine all of the Dem talking points and tell me if everything goes back to barriers or not. Why would the Dems favor big government if it weren't to help people get past supposed barriers?

Healthcare - people can't afford it so they need government (barrier)
Abortion - women just don't have any other choices so they need it to be legal (barrier)
Poverty - the poor can't make it on their own or there's a conspiracy to hold them down so they need to redistribute the wealth (barrier)

    Etc., etc.

I agree with everything except the abortion part. She made the choice to lye on her back and spread her legs.People talk about the innocents that died in Iraq but these same fuckers don't care about the unborn.

  • Spike Lee should have been at some Ron Paul rallies during the primary. You should have seen the diversity there. It had less to do with skin color and everything to do with different thoughts and opinions. But the diversity was astounding.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    Yep.

And it's good that since men obviously share 50-50 in the responsibility of getting pregnant that they get to share 50-50 in making a decision regarding the life of their child...umm...wait a minute...

  • I know that its just not just the womans responsibility. You girls have the final say though , on spreading your legs.So if the guy does'nt have a condom, then why give it up if you know that it can turn into unwanted pregnancy. There are plenty of folks out there who will adopt your baby.Stop playing God.He decides who lives and dies not your irresponsibilitys.Same goes to the fuckin guy who want to have his girl have an abortion and she does'nt want to.The 2 of them made the choice, the baby has none.I have 6 kids by my wife of 23 years, don't talk to me about resposibilitys and my balls.

I sure hope this is sarcasm, as this is not true. It is a gross generalization to say the least.
