And telling everyone why they should vote for this one and not the other? Well, if I had a vote it would probably make me wanna vote for the other :o . Just accept that people are gonna vote however they're gonna vote and you're being patronising is not gonna convince anyone that your choice is the best.

And I don't want people coming in here going 'hahaha... shove THAT up your arse xxxxxxxxx ' cos for all you know maybe I'm referring to you
The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"

personally i think the US presidential election is the most drawn-out, comercialized form of democracy ive ever come across. cant relate to it.

Irish elections all the way. Votes done in one round. However many parties you want. Lots of candidates. Overall winners win.
    Slightly less corruption.

(Arent the US one of the the only countries in the world that doesnt recognise the authority of the EU neutral body that oversees fair procedures during elections?)
always loved that tidbit of info!

It always comes across as a bit of a circus alright. I didn't know about that... but then since when does the US recognise ANY neutral authority?

I think the Irish system is fair... apart from one thing: COALITION partners! it really pissed me off the amount of times Harney would overrule Ahern... when nobody actually voted for her

thats exactly the people - i remember reading that sometime around the Kenyan elections, will go recheck my sources cos i remember thinking it sounded a little suspect!

but then i remembered the 2000 elections and said, "hey, anythings possible" :) - i stand corrected. They do. i fell for some poor journalism.
Cant believe everything i read eh?
