So what do you all think of the news that France suggested merging with Britain in the 50's with the queen as the head of state? :D
The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
Chicago 07? And love

I like the idea of merging with France but not with the Queen... France is a great country, full of history, culture, literature, red wine and lovely women
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

And Dunky.. I totally agree with you :D:D But what would the french have got in return?? Scotsmen in kilts, maybe?

britain merged with the us instead. the americanization of britain has taken it's toll on the culture and the kings english. it's one thing to hitch your wagon to a winning horse but it's another to start acting like the horse.

The French can have a warped sense of humour (or was it the English in this case.. delivering their queen to the french???):D

This is a hoax right?? I cannot imagine in a million years that the french would wanna unite with anyone other than beautiful women! They are so nationalistic and are so proud of their history and traditions that they would never do something like this!!

I never heard about that, and never been taught that! And impossible to find documents in french on the subject as well.

That would be very true for any other country, but however french tradition has it we are taught to hate britain very young, in kindergarden. I think it's more likely the reason why it didn't happen (and why I couldn't find anything on the subject!).

The same thing happened in France, so you know it's kind of like if the merger did actually happen.
