Just to stimulate some debate :-)

i plan to take politics at university...

faced with the issues of today, i wonder how many of us would act that differently to the world leaders of today. if we really were in their positions.
im not sure if i agree either way. but im sure some people will have an opinion!

To quote Krusty The Clown: "they rolled wheel barrels of money to my door. what else could I do?" In other words, most people would stray away from what they believe in for the money dropped at their feet.

I would not stray too far from my beliefs because you are only fooling yourself first before you can pull the wool over anybody elses eyes.
You've changed your place in this world!

    to answer the question... no
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

You know, I actually believe that most people in government (well the norwegian one anyway) is filled with idealistic hard-working people that try to fulfill their political objectives to the best of their ability. It's just hard and frustrating to do so. (as governing btw should be in a democratic state imo)

I really hate how the press keeps harping on "promises unfulfilled" when what's really the case is that the politicians should say "this is what we set out and hope to do". But the tabloids always spin it like they're screwing us over when they dont do to a t exactly what they may have said in one speech or another. Poliotics is about what their general goals and means are, not the timid details really. Although politicians should resist the temptations to make bold statements, and the press should hold them accountable after all in a way...

I think I'm saying that I don't think I could have done things any better really. Not without imposing myself as dictator, and also then I'd probably fuck up royally, screwing over people even more than before. :p Politics is give and take and compromise, and mindnumbingly boring meetings on details. I have gotten a taste of it through participation in the student's council at university.

    Peace

You say that as if there's a chance in hell that any one of us could ever be worse......
  • Very few people would be at all better than the very people they bitch about.. myself included.

the fact of the matter here is there is virtually no comprimise, which is an essential function in an elected government.

President El Kabong Again refuses a grant for Mercks Cure for Cancer Solution because Big Corporations are evil, mannnn.

Senate Leader HailHailKC maintains his stance that diplomacy will not be used to resolve the high tariffs being levied on Products to Iceland- bombing will resume in the morning.

CIA leader DanMac again co sponsers a bill to declassify all us documents, and sell them to Iceland, just to get under HailHailKC' skin.

Secretary of Defense 69 Charger orders air strikes on all northern beaches, because the inhabitants skin color is now slightly darker on a sunny day.

Governor mammasen bans peanut butter state wide, while his LT. Governor Abusteki cancels all voting, because its pointless, and you cant change anything anyways.

Secretary of State Zstillings continues to push for his new nationwide "only enough to bleed, old enough to breed" policy.

It would be a cluster fuck.
