the 1 time a year I go to NYC I see a severed leg on the sidewalk! Someone jumped off the empire state building and only his leg made it to the street... sad...

What happened to the rest of him?

apparently the rest of him landed on a ledge and that's where the leg was severed.. He jumped from an office about 60 stories up and the ledge was about 30 stories from the street.

well it's a good thing it did'nt land on someone and kill them. that would've been really sad.

I heard about this on the news today. It is sad.

I tell ya, jumping is really not the way to go. Too messy and about half way down, if you think "ooops, man, I really don't do this"...too late. You're fucked.

I don't know. You might black out and go into a dream state knowing that your going to die. Bleeding to death probably be a lot worse.

i hate to seem disrespectful, but if i was going to kill myself i'd at least have enough respect to do it in a way/place that mass numbers of people would have to see it. seeing something like that would scar me. why do that to someone?

I've never been in that state of mind, but I would think that if you didn't care about your own life, that you would care about anyone else's either.
