Welcome to the Airport. You Seen These Guys?
IconThe Bush administration plans to brighten up the holidays by distributing hundreds of colorful “wanted terrorist posters” to U.S. airports across the country. “More than 500 posters are on their way to major airports in New York City, Houston, Kansas City, Newark, Sacramento and Washington, D.C.,” says a State Department press release. “Smaller airports across the country also requesting posters include those in Guam, Fairbanks, several cities in the Hawaiian Islands, Dayton, Myrtle Beach, Little Rock, San Antonio and Londonderry, N.H.”
The posters, intended to increase travelers’ “awareness of wanted terrorists,” feature 26 “faces of global terrorism” on a bright red background with a mound of $50 bills at the bottom. Al Qaeda leaders Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri are featured at the top of the poster along with “the most recent addition to the [Rewards for Justice] program, American-born terrorist Adam Gadahn,” the release says. Rewards average around $5 million, with offers of $25 million for bin Laden or other al Qaeda leaders. The program has paid out $62 million so far to more than 40 people. – Neil King Jr.

if you're sitting in columbus and look at that wanted poster and see bin laden and suddenly realize he's the guy who moved into the apt next door... i think this country DOES need to surrender right now cos we aren't going to win anything with that kind of security and intelligence.
seriously, how many of these people will an american ever see? what purpose does this serve? are a lot of americans going to afghanistan for xmas? do we really think bin laden is hiding out in kansas city?

shit, you're right. KC isnt THAT far from the rockies!
im gonna take my koran detector on the plane with me and keep an eye on those dirty bastards. i hear they eat christian babies.
yea no kidding.
good thing they will ut these signs up. hopefully I spot one of these fuckers. Osama better stay off my flight to NYC this year
i highly doubt anyone will see bin laden in the states. but if you're traveling out of the country (good possibility if you're in an airport), do you think the chances of seeing someone on one of those posters might be a bit higher?
i know, and the answer is no. i know this doesn't make you happy, so why don't you find out who prints up the posters and send them an email suggesting that bush and cheney have their own posters, just so you can smile.

Sure, the possibility will increase a small bit but you won't see them. Especially not Osama.
if you're travelling anywhere and you expect to see osama, you better bring a shovel
I dont get it
Sounds like the bridge to nowhere to me.
i think osama has been pushing up daisies for a little while now
never said you would. but the person i originally quoted was acting like those posters were put up so people could look around their neighborhood for the wanted men. if that was the case, the posters would most likely be put up in convenience stores, not airports.

these posters are tailored just for you......you have 0% chance of seeing or recognizing someone on these posters.....anywhere.......Jeese (pun intended)
course...you know there are two characters that resemble this speach pattern...on is Elmer....the other???
i have no idea what you're implying, or what the pun is.

would be so great if it were proven
that was sarcasm. becos no, i dont think the chances of an american spotting any of those people exist at all. they are not in countries where americans will be travelling for the holidays. and i honestly think to the majority of american, they all look alike anyway. nobody's going to be chilling at jfk, see that poster, touch down in san juan and go "son of a bitch! it's number 32! call the cia!"
this is fucking ridiculous.
yeah, the whole idea of the posters is rediculous. and i agree with you, the chances of someone looking at those posters and then seeing one of those people are next to nil...............but even if there is the slimmest chance and it happens to nab one of them, then that'd be good, no?
i'm just having a hard time understanding why people would be upset about this issue. seems childish to be starting a stink about it.
~Michael Bolton
Because it boosts an irrational fear for political reasons and makes it seem as if it should be at the top of the priority list. Why are there no posters warning about the dangers of the tons of other things out there that are much more deadly and more likely to effect us?
