Joe Biden 2008: The Right Choice?

The whole 2008 election has gotten under my skin lately. It has become entirely too much about money - people don't even look beyond those who the media designates as the "front runners". I even question if people truly care about the issues anymore - or if the only concern is who can raise the most money. I don't see any discussion about the election outside of who's ahead in the polls, which Democratic candidate polls ahead of the top Republican candidate (and vice versa), and other such statistics.
I seem to be in the minority, but I care about who represents the best vision for the United States. Who will restore dignity and responsibility to this wonderful country; who has the best plan to take care of the chaos that is Iraq; someone who can handle, responsibly, the imminent threats of Iran and North Korea, and the rising problem that is Pakistan.
To me, there is only one candidate that can accomplish all of these, and that is Joe Biden. Not to demean Obama, Hillary, Edwards, or Richardson by any means, but the first three look like children in comparison to Joe Biden, especially in the foreign policy arena. He has been on the phone with the president of Pakistan in recent days discussing the crisis that is developing. He has a plan that will settle the chaos and turmoil in Iraq without immediately withdrawing, resulting in the all of our efforts over the last 4 years going to a waste and without staying there with no sense of vision or goals.
In my opinion, I couldn't imagine anyone being president after what this administration has done and bringing us through the destruction that has been caused, except for Joe Biden. He has been a longtime senator - and not only that, but chairman of both the Judiciary and Foreign Relations Committees.
Some may question his ability to win the general election one year from now, but I believe he stands a better chance than the other Democratic candidates. The Republicans have been preparing since 2000 to defeat Hillary Clinton, and they simply need to pull the experience card on Obama and he'll run into destruction. Biden has the strength to fight back - not be swift boated into defeat like John Kerry. He has the courage to not only stand up for himself and fight back, but attack just as nasty as the Republicans can. Also, from my own perspective, I would reason that he appeals to moderates and independents more than Edwards, Obama, and Hillary.
In all, I think it's sad that a candidate that provides such a great hope for this country is being overshadowed by candidates that have more money, and mostly only because the media has designated them as the frontrunners.
I wouldn't be honestly surprised, at all, if Joe Biden were to be the nominee. As a study showed, the Democratic frontrunner a year in advance has only been the nominee twice since '72 - and one was Al Gore in 2000. Simply look at 2004 to see how this parallells the last election. Howard Dean, and Joe Lieberman, were considered the two frontrunners up until John Kerry showed strong in Iowa. If Joe Biden is able to show up strong in Iowa, the media will be buzzing about him, and more people will see that he is the candidate that bring this country to the greatness it was once held to.
He has been endorsed by 12 legislators in Iowa, and was the first to receive a newspaper endorsement in Iowa. With the looming crises abroad, I think that more and more people will begin to realize that a strong and hopeful foreign policy is what this country needs, and that Joe Biden is the one that can best bring it to this great nation.

No matter who is elected on the Democrat side, my first cabinet staffing decision would be to make him the Secretary of State.

The events that are happening with Iran, and Pakistan, and the ever-looming threat of North Korea really have me worried. Like, really worried. What worries me even more is a President that doesn't know how to properly handle these issues, or at least without strong support that can handle these without starting another war. If we were in for another 4 years of the Bush Administration, I can't even imagine what I'd do.

straight from the hip
The Citibank, and BOA candidate.
F Joe Biden and the rest of corrupt Congress.
He represents Delaware... what other industry is there in that state to fill his pockets?
That is why I think he would make a better sec of state then president... instead of basing a foreign policy on oil and gaining more global power, it will be based on establishing places where credit card companies can set up those tables to give you free t-shirts and beach towels if you sign up for a card....
Much less dangerous to the world

i like it...
and it does appear he is setting up as a possible sec of state...
it's just frustrating that his plan for the war is really the best, but b/c he doesn't come out and say it will be over immediately if he gets elected, he's not favored. everyone knows that the war will not be over immediately. democrats told us that in 2006 so they would get elected, and what have they done?...given Bush more money to fund it.
And those misguided, There was a plan for them to be
Now you got both sides Claiming killing in Gods name
But God is nowhere,..... To be found, conveniently
What goes on?
