Anna Nicole Smith was pronounced dead Thursday after being taken to a Florida hospital, a law enforcement source told CNN.

Smith, 39, collapsed at a south Florida hotel, according to news reports.

"I can confirm that she is deceased. It's as shocking to me as to you guys," Smith's attorney, Ronald Rale, told Reuters. "I don't know anything further. [Her lawyer and husband] Howard [K. Stern], obviously, is speechless and grieving."

TMZ.com had reported that Smith collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2 p.m. ET.

wow, she loses her son and then herself.
things were going pretty bad for her.
don't fuck with karma my friends.
she traded false love for only the riches. She lived a lie, sold her soul.
    bad move anna,
    still,
    rip.

    Well, that's unfortunate.

    Fare thee well Anna

But it's OK to call them terrible.

Gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in some of the comments made here. Set aside the fact that she was a very troubled woman for the better part of her life. she's a mother who lost her son, and has now left her baby girl orphaned without a clear idea of who her father might be.

Anna was a punchline of many jokes over the years. I just hope that she was in on it, and not an unwitting participant. The amount of weight she lost in the time that she lost it was extremely dangerous...then going through a HUGE hormonal change with pregnancy...plus years of drug use/abuse...she had to be one of the most unlucky people in the world. She seems to have succeeded in spite of her terrible luck.

    Terrible, why?

Because she chose something tangible (money) over something intangible (love)?

How many times I've heard women joke about wanting men with money. Truthfully this is a serious goal. We had a thread here about men who don't own cars and not suprisingly many women said they wouldn't even date a guy that doesn't own a car. People are materialistic, Anna just took that to a higher level.

    Yes

Would you choose money over the benefit of the beggar on the street? Yea, I thought so.

Laziness can be caused by a PPAR-Delta insentivity.

Huh? It's not a choice? Ah shit!

Makes you realize that people would rather hear entertainment news than real news. Same goes for the media.

She definitely had some issues and was completely trashy but I'm a bit surprised at the "good riddance" stance. She was still a person who had people that cared about her and a daughter that will never get to know her real mother but only the joke her public persona created.
