    I find no mention of sugar to be interesting. I see this bill suffering a quick death....but does appear to be an "out of the box" idea.

    Not quite sure I understand exactly what it would be replaced with. But if it means more money going to vegetables, fruits, organics then o.k. But I seriously doubt if it will happen. The traditional farm lobby is too strong.

    any bill that would take millions from corporate farmers and give some to local small time farmers gets my support.

    Did anyone else see the map (I forget where or when) that showed where farm subsidies go, in terms of geography? There were millions and millions of dollars going to lots of different locations in Manhattan. I did not know that 91% of CA farmers got none. That's absolutely ridiculous.

    Though the article was fairly short and didn't go into too much detail, I'm pretty sure I'm behind this.
