    Taxation without representation.

I was aware of some of this. I had no idea how vast and expensive it was.

And now, knowing this, this kind of throws my Draft theory out of the water, and may explain Bush's calm in regard to talks about a draft.

That said, I may be wrong in my prediction.

However, the characterization I gave of the predatory nature of these people is dead on. If they were to find an opportunity to make a buck off you, and needed to slit your throat to do it, these are your guys.

This is a good article. I do not think many people really know that this is going on. I remember hearing from a returned U.S. soldier who was talking about the war and how these contractors are out there making like 3 times what the real U.S. Troops are making....he Said it was a bit demoralizing considering they didn't really have the same committment and were making bank doing it.

Hmmmm......this isn't new in warfare though remember.

The British used mercenaries from Germany back in the US Revolutionary War.

I think the point of the article is the number of mercenaries versus the number of military.

yes...I agree....and the clueless remain hopeless...
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.
