we've learned alot about the earth with ice core samples. we found high levels of lead so we banned leaded gasoline and we watched the levels drop. we've found reasons for past extinctions and every atmospheric change. we found soot from when europe heated with coal. in fact; all of earths pollution from millions of years is stored in that ice.
now tell me: WHERE WILL THAT POLLUTION GO WHEN THE ICE MELTS?

The same place all those tons of oil that keep leaking out of tankers is going?
Second 1000-2000 ton oil spill in several month over in asia right now!
Honestly, if the ice caps are melting, are you really going to cast any extra thought to the remnant pollution leaking out with it?
There are plenty of reasons for humanity to be concerned about its future on this planet.
I'd say, generaly speaking, we're all fucked ... and soon. 50 years max. Probably 20 or less, imho.
In a world where phrases like "ecosystem collapse", "mass extinction", and "resource depletion" are becoming common place, i'm just not sure this is even worth fretting.
It's like the exlax icing on a diarrhea cake.
If I opened it now would you not understand?
