I thought the placement of these two statements were poor…..

‘He doesn't want to change the very definition of marriage from what it has always meant throughout recorded human history. It is not above John McCain's pay grade to grasp the simple fact that human life begins at conception, and he is committed to protecting it.’

~but if he protects you as an unborn baby, and you turn out to be gay, you can’t get married.~

I know these are republican ideals.
It’s just stuck me as ironic that they were in the same paragraph.

People who oppose gay marriage so strongly need to get a new hobby.

John McCain has also been committed to bombing human life out of existence. So, he doesn't like to have fetuses aborted, but thinks it's a good idea to drop bombs on a region killing people of all ages indiscriminately, whether they are your political foes or not. So, the idea that John McCain is committed to protecting human life is downright laughable to me, since he is for protecting it under his terms and indiscriminately ending it under his terms of conscience, as well. This is not the protection of human life. It's an attitude of righteousness in ending not just one life, but masses of human lives as okay if you say it is.

Well, of course. Unborn babies are innocent! But gays are baaaaaaad, and if we stop oppressing them and let them get married, they'll turn our innocent children GAY!

Exactly. We can't abort the fetuses; we need them to grow up so they can be the ones to drop the bombs. This way they're killed at war 18 years after they should have been aborted. And so everything will work out in the end.

I can understand why Pro-Lifers are against abortion, I don't agree with them but I can understand. Even if, as many of us believe, that it is not a life it has the potential to be one. What boggles my mind is the same sex marriage issue. Now with abortion, depending on your belief, you are hurting someone. With same sex marriage absolutely no one is being harmed here, not a soul. I respect people's religious beliefs and if you believe that homosexuals are sinners fine. I disagree but I respect your right to believe as you wish, but to prevent people from expressing their love for each as any other heterosexual does is ridiculous. Who cares if John and Dave want to get married. It has absolutely zero impact on you. If these people where truly so concerned about the integrity of marriage and the American family why not do more to prevent teenage pregnancy, marital abuse, dead-beat fathers/mothers, child abuse. These are the things that destroy families not the gay couple down the street.
