I understand that time are different. Cookie monster smoking a pipe and a girl being taken home by a strange adult may not sit to well with today's audience, but I think we baby our children too much in this day and age.

Cookie Monster smoking a pipe taught kids about reality...with what he was smokin' in that pipe why do you think that he always had the munchies for cookies? ;)

also the reality is that kids need to be more wary of people in their own or a relatives home than a neighbor....that's not to say that people shouldn't teach their kids not to go home with anyone they and their parents don't know.

this is just more of the same ol' turning kids into wussies, that grow up having no clue about the realities in the world. teaching them that if everything isn't absolutely perfect it's time to freak out....isn't good for anyone

I agree with you. People now insultate their children, practically raise them in a bubble. they almost have this mentality that if you don't expose them to the fucked up things in the world nothing will happen to them. Kids need to be educated, which unfortunetly means telling them about all the harmfull things and people out there.

I wonder if I can sue PBS and the producers of Sesame Street because watching their show caused me to have a cookie addiction??? :D:):p;)

I get what the producers are trying to say, that if your kid who watches Sesame Street every day pops in this dvd you will have a lot of explaining to do. So it is nice that they gave parents a heads up, although saying it is not suitable for children might be a bit much.

I watched a documentary on Sesame Street. Actually it was about educational programming for children. But it talked about how the CTW, Children's Television Network, a Non-Profit organization, pioneered educational television with Sesame Street.

On the other hand, characters like Oscar the Grouch could be done without. I mean, why put a bum in the show? One that lives in the trash can? Who is grumpy and mean? If that's not stereotyping homeless, I don't know what is.

  • The original mickey mouse cartoons are banned as well.

Soon the term politically correct itself will be risqué.

Some pretty bad stuff usually. I haven't seen this one though.

years ago i was sitting with my kids watching looney toons. this one had a hunter (that wasn't Elmer Fudd) and he was shooting at some ducks in a pond, as soon as he shot off the rifle the barrel of the rifle goes limp....lol. now obviously it was geared to adults but I bet it would never be allowed on t.v. now even if most kids (if they're lucky) would never make the connection to sex

Is there is a Donald Duck comic strip that Disney will not allowed to be reprinted....Donald gets into the Atomic bomb building business. Follow the links for details. :)
