    I'm not advocating for or against truckers or strikes. I have no idea the percentage of truckers who have children. I have only personally known a few long-haul truckers (including my uncle) and they were all supporting families, but won't project that to the entire population of truckers.

    I don't know why I as a consumer would strike. Fuel costs are going up, and I would expect that to drive up costs of goods and services.

    indeed. the inflation that fuel is causing throughout the entire market-system might be one reason to desire to curb/halt spending/consumerism, but yeah, we're all basically fucked.
