I ran across this and it was fairly interesting. It asks 12 questions and then some magic leprechaun somewhere looks at your answers and says who most closely resembles your views.

The problem with a lot of these polls is they cover very little ground. For example, of the questions asked, I agree pretty much with Paul's stance. However, I vehemently disagree with a lot of his other libertarian views.

This is true. I guess it has a lot to do with the particular issues. Paul holds views that I disagree with more than I disagree with say, Clinton (who I wouldn't vote for) and Obama. I suppose it is the degree of disagreement, in other words, positions that I would not be able to compromise. Ha ha, I'm not sure I made any sense. ;)

That is exactly the problem I have with Paul. People are jumping all over his anti-war stance and some (not all of course) aren't looking into the very strict libertarian principles he's running on. And I've noticed this not so much on this board but all over myspace. I've seen people who post so many socialist type bulletins turn around and post pro Paul bulletins 5 mins later. Also the 9/11 truthers LOVE Paul! I guess it may have something to do with the Alex Jones support??

    Overall Presidential Candidate Rankings

Below are the presidential candidates listed with the "best matching" candidates first, using the average matching score for every user that's taken the survey (a total of 12589 submissions).
    Candidate Average Score
    Ron Paul 3.75
    YOU 2.43
    Bill Richardson 2.43
    Barack Obama 2.38
    Hillary Clinton 2.38
    John Edwards 1.59
    Mike Huckabee 0.87
    Mitt Romney 0.87
    Dennis Kucinich 0.27
    John McCain -0.45
    Rudy Giuliani -0.84

I don't get the results... if I fall between Ron Paul and Richardson in the overall list, then why is Kuchinich considered my top ranking?

Seems about right for me. If today were election day Kucinich would get my vote. If I were to sell out and vote for a front-runner rather than someone I truly want in office, it would be Obama. After that, there's no one I would vote for anyway. Mitt and Rudy would definetly be at the bottom.

I was thinking. I wonder how many fools out there are so ill informed that they take a quick poll like this and then use that as the basis for their vote.

So here's the idea. Create one of these polls, but have it skewed to give your favorite candidate an advantage. Not on the Q&A but on the results. My guess is if it's rigged to give a certain candidate priority in the results then it could have a real effect on the election....because there are a lot of stupid people in this country who are too lazy to research candidates. That's why this poll even exists, right?

anybody else notice the ad for the "American Labor Party"??? LOL! The poll's obviously another attempt by Ron Paul's "supporters" to manipulate anything they can get their grubby little hands on to make their candidate seem more relevant and less, well, flake-like.

It's a poll, what do you expect? The questions are skewed to achieve the desired answers for whomever is conducting the poll.
