Don't forget your local anti-WalMart protests! If one doesn't exist in your area, start one!!!! I was amazed at what a good experience we had here at the last protest. A lot of the shoppers had no idea what was happening behind the scenes at WalMart."It is never too late to have a happy childhood"

As long as I can still get my eggs for $.05 a piece, then they can go as green as they want.I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.0

And if you can't?0 -

If they raise their prices, I won't shop there anymore. And I'll hop on the "hate wal-mart" bandwagon. Seriously, I get a pound of Tillamook butter there for under $2. How cheap is that?!I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.0 -

Not very cheap, if you consider the unlisted costs you're paying in the effects to your community and state.
I'm not on the "hate wal-mart" bandwagon either...at least not in the legislative terms other use. But considering the cost the states and nation are now extracting from me supposedly because of Wal-Mart's practices and the environmental and social losses we're experiencing because of Wal-Mart shoppers, that pound of Tillamook butter looks less and less cheap.0 -

A green Walmart?
Yeah...EASY....bulldoze the f-ing evil blue monstrosities and plant trees.
It's like McDonalds putting pictures of athletes on their tray mats and takeout bags. You eat their shit while they show you pictures of healthy muscular olympic athletes. Bwaaaa... what an overly effective societal mind fuck.0 -

Whose shoes do we need to walk in before some of us can really understand.
Are you going to tell me about it or is someone else?

The shoes of those whose lives you propose to bulldoze.0 -
As much as I dislike Wal-Mart, if they are going to be here than I applaud their decision. They are going to be selling organic produce which is good for everyone and makes organics available to those who would not normally be able to get access to them. This is good. If they as a huge producer of goods is willing to take some environmental initatives than good for them. I generally think of Walmart as being a pretty evil company, but I think this is a good step in teh right direction.0

Naw you got it the wrong way around. Walmart is bulldozing you (and the world as well) man. Large corporations have you blinded. Your neighborhood would be 1000 times better if everything you got inwalmart could be bought down at the end of your street by your neighbors, and you support your local community directly. That's what makes up the foundation of a happy country. Happy neighborhoods. The small business man that lives a good and honest life in the community. But the Walmart and associated squeezes them out. They take away sense of a close knit community. Would you rather work for walmart, or have a little store of your own?
So you think diversity in the community is a shit idea?0 -

So I should resort to their standards? No thanks.Large corporations have you blinded.
To what?Your neighborhood would be 1000 times better if everything you got inwalmart could be bought down at the end of your street by your neighbors, and you support your local community directly.
Umm....ok. If that were true no one would shop at Wal-Mart.That's what makes up the foundation of a happy country. Happy neighborhoods.
The foundation of happiness is freedom -- the freedom to think and act based on your own standards, not someone else's.The small business man that lives a good and honest life in the community. But the Walmart and associated squeezes them out. They take away sense of a close knit community.
Umm....ok. If that were true no one from my community would work at Wal-Mart.Would you rather work for walmart, or have a little store of your own?
I'd take the latter. I respect the rights of others to choose the former. So you think diversity in the community is a shit idea?
Let me get this straight: diversity is best achieved by bulldozing one of the available options??? That's a new one to me. Diversity is achieved by the creation of options, not the destruction of options.0 -

Then I start a store that pays people better wages. And provides a better environment. And provides a better product. You know, like these guys did:
