Just a real quick thing most of you probably won't even care about, but i thought it might be something you would want to hear.
In class last night, my professor was talking about the election and the disconnect between what people honestly want and what the elected pursue, and the officials who just don't give a damn, and she said
"In a general way, people in your program (masters - public affairs) care more. Ten years ago, people came to this program to get in, get out, and make more money. The last five years or so I've noticed that the students genuinely care about the issues, governance, and helping people who can't help themself."
And this is from one of the most cynical people I've ever met. Anyway, it made me a little more comfortable knowing that the people who will be leading in the public sector care more than they did in the past, something I think we desperately need. So there is something to look forward to! Perhaps a glimpse of light!

Man, i don't see how people DON'T care. I guess it's that whole "I can't change it, so fuck it." attitude. Which makes them right.0 -

Not to send you on a complete downer, but if you sit and think about the amount of shit that people don't care or think about, you could absolutely lose your faith in humanity.0 -

Trust me, I know. I'm cynical by nature.0
