Since the U.S. election is over and we need something new to talk about, I have had an interesting question in the back of my mind for quite some time. I'll make it into a poll. Please be honest with your answers.

Do you have any friends who are polar opposite of you when it comes to politics? If so, how many? And how do you deal with it?

My closest friend is a self described socialist and my girlfriend is a die hard liberal. The rest of my friends range from non-voters who are completely apathetic to the election process and politics to straight down the line Democrats to straight down the line Republicans. I'm probably the sole independent in my group of friends. I deal with it just as I would with any other differences of opinion. I don't think any of them are wrong for their political affiliations. The one's that vote are pretty well informed on the issues and vote based on that. The one friend who does get a bit under my skin is my closest friend, the socialist, because his political leaning are based on a fantasy. He has this utopian disillusion that Marxism can some how work and refuses to accept the facts that it has mostly failed.

I generally don't care what a person thinks just as long as they are well informed. What bothers me are the misinformed ignorant masses that base such an important decision on propaganda and misinformation generated by political spinsters and their pundits.

All my best friends are deeply religious conservatives. They are great peeps and we get along just fine despite our differences.
    We have great discussions. :D

ALL my friends are Liberal Democrats and my lady tends to be Republican. She did say she would've voted for Obama in this election.

I caught flack from my friends cause I decided to vote for Nader but I told them all I have a distrust of ALL politicians. I pray that someone will turn this country around I don't care if he or she is repub or dem just fix the problems and get the job done. End the theft of the taxpayer monies, take care of THIS country and it's people and not necessarily the wealthy.

You know spread the wealth around :D Just kidding, would to see all people prosper or have the chance to prosper without having to steal it.

Peace it's cold Palm Beach here I come. :)
