For once tough questions to Biden...

...watch him back peddal on wealth redistribution. He looked like he was going to walk out of the interview because he actually had tough questions directed at him.

Great interview.

  • Joe Biden has had the easiest vice presidential run ever.
  • Tough questions? Yes... Somewhat politically loaded, but tough questions.

I think Biden answered/deflected them pretty well.

The "spread the wealth around" has joined the "100 years Iraq war" line as one of the most overplayed, out of context, off the cuff remark by a candidate in this election.

Never was a big fan of Biden. Little disappointed Obama chose him.

So questions like what newspapers do you read and what is the bush doctrine are tough?

I'll agree they were both taken out of context, but McCain did say we'd stay 100 years if we had to and he's recently said we will stay until we "win" (which could actually take 100 years at this rate) so I think that statement was much more dangerous. Just my take.

How about when Kaite Couric asks her if she's a feminist and she clearly says "yes" and goes into explaining why, then when Brian Williams asks the SAME question she says something to the effect of "I'm not gonna label myself." HUH?

Yikes! It's not that the questions are tough; I think it's the way the interviewer asks the questions. It seems as if she thinks she already knows the answers. "How is Obama not being a Marxist if he wants to spread the wealth around?" Biden can't believe it.

"I don't know who is writing your questions."

    My favorite exchange:

Anchorwoman: "Getting back to the spreading-the-wealth question..."

Joe Biden: (Squints, shakes head slightly)

AW: "What do you say to the people who are concerned that Barack Obama will want to turn America into a socialist country much (looks away, rolls eyes) like Sweden?"

JB: "I don't know anybody who thinks that except the far right wing of the Republican party."

    (Silence)

AW: "OK, Sen. Biden. Thank you very much."

I bet Biden thought, "Yeah, go fuck yourself you local anchor cunt."

Both sides throw out rhetoric answers to tough questions or what it thought of as tough questions.

He's been challeneged a few times, but no where near as many times as Palin has. But then again, every time she opens her mouth, it's a disaster of biblical proportions. She brings the majority of it on herself. She really does.

Nice. Another feminist/"call any woman who disagrees with liberalism a cunt" liberal. The anger and venom on your side is ridiculous. You don't even see it or recognize it, which is scary.

Chill out. You don't think Biden wanted to bitch slap that lady?

Sure. But must we call any woman who is against liberalism a cunt?

Yes. It's in the liberal left handbook.

Um...if by "tough questions" you mean "GOP talking points"...

You should see the softball interview with McCain she did a few weeks prior to this. I think Tucker Bounds was hiding under the news desk feeding her questions during both interviews.

When was the last time a VP candidate had an hard run? Dan Quayle?

Absolutely. Obama might as well not even have a running mate. Apparently Joe Biden has never done anything wrong, has a perfect family and is practically a saint.

Good to see Biden getting asked questions. It’s just quite something starting to see the GOP around the country start to point fingers at each other and make excuses. If Obama wins, of course it’s not going to be because he was the better candidate. It’s because the media was “in the tank” for him, it’s cause he was able to fool everyone with nice speeches, so and so forth. It would have nothing to do with the McCain/Palin ticket being a crappy ticket. If Obama wins, I’m wondering how many fingers are going to be pointed (and this is not a partisan thing, I’m sure the same thing happened in 2000). It’s not fun, but considering our side has been falling apart and pointing fingers for eight years, it’s nice to see the opposing side have to deal with that for a while.

Those were not tough questions, those were deliberately constructed ambush questions. Obviously, the news director there is some kind of Karl Rove disciple and wanted to create a scandal or scene. BTW I thought Biden did a terrific job answering the BS line of questioning without losing his cool. If you think that was honest journalism you need to watch more unbiased coverage!

Points for sarcasm. I think I would rather Obama didn't have a running mate. Any Biden opens his mouth there's at least a 10-percent chance he's going to say something stupid.

Maybe the Dems should steer him clear of interviews, though he didn't do poorly in this one. Biden could then be a pit bull with dental caps attacking McCain-Palin for the last week and change of the campaign.
