It appears celebrities are growing upset on the Palin pick. Here's Matt Damon's take...
http://www.breitbart.tv/html/171553.html
My response to this is that Obama has very little experience too. He's taking subtle swipes at her for being a mom. This is why the celeb political parade "typically" hurts the Dems. I was waiting for them to start hopping up on their soapboxes. It has begun.
Do you think Obama really wants someone like Matt Damon saying stuff like this? In my opinion, he wants no part of it because it rallies the opponents base more than it rallies his.

I usually overlook the celebrity stuff and overall I don't believe it hurts or helps the candidates. Personnally I've never heard anyone actually say they were strictly for or against a candidate because of a celebrity. It's the Jesus celebrity shit that confuses me.
On a similar note I just recently found out Toby Kieth is an Obama supporter...
Now that dropped my jaw.the Minions0 -

can we PLEASE put the experience thing behind us? It's so fucking overplayed.
Hell, I can show you a guy who had 4 years executive experience on a state level AND 8 (long painful) years executive experience on a federal level and STILL isn't qualified to be president.0 -

Toby Keith is a registered Democrat, and always has been.
What's surprising is, instead of writing a song about putting a boot up Al Qaeda's ass, he didn't write a song about flying to Afghanistan and giving Osama bin Laden a backrub.everybody wants the most they can possibly get

Can we put the experience thing behind us? OK. Talk to Matt Damon, he brought it up. Be fairminded here.0 -

There should only be a handful of people around that ARE qualified to do that job, if everything is working as it should. This is the most important job in the world. Experience counts in every single industry...except the executive branch of the US government? huh? say again?
And sheesh you guys....you all come here to read political opinions from people that, for the most part, you haven't met....but you immediately jump on a celeb for speaking his mind....while speaking yours. what the hell? How about we all say "I don't give a rats ass" every time there's a new post?
i thought what Damon said was fairly eloquent, well thought out, and not over the top with any venom or anything. What's the problem, exactly?0 -

LOL.. I love that movieThats a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?

I saw his comments and tried to think of him as just another guy who is honestly concerned for his country. Damon seems to be the kind of guy to check his sources. But when he made the comment about Palin staring down Putin as the "hockey mom", that really made me laugh - He made a good point I thought.Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0

I didn't even bother looking at the video. I don't give a fuck what Matt Damon says about anything. As far as I'm concerned his opinion on this weighs exactly as much as yours. If he said something good about Palin I wouldn't care. If you vote because you are influenced by any celebrity in either party, you're an idiot.Drowned Out wrote:Overplayed? So showing that someone else isn't competent enough to be Pres or VP proves exactly what about the competency of Palin?
Showing? I don't know about that. I think whether someone is qualified is highly objective.
I have sooo many problems with Palin that have nothing to do with whether she was the mayor of a podunk town or governor of a podunk state. technically she has less experience than W. and we all know how well that turned out.
I'm supporting Obama because he has shown objectivity, he has a record of helping the less fortunate, making correct policy choices and he is a constitutional scholar. Anyone remember the constitution?
I also think he has a better grasp on issues both here and abroad.
Obama could assemble the best minds on the planet to make good decsions in the same way GWB assembled the most evil minds on the planet to make decisions that ass fuck 99.99% of the people he claims to represent.0
