  • Besides Pat Buchanan joking about her being a supporter on MSNBC one morning, I haven't heard any of those other claims.

I saw on the news that she was accused of banning a list of books, which I had never heard about. I heard the rumor that is fact, according to that article; that she "inquired" about the process of banning books.

Well, they have. Specificially these two:

She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She's been registered as a Republican since May 1982.

Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

Her husband was a member of the AIP, though, as recently as 2002. Sarah herself has addressed the party a few times, and always in positive terms.

I've read about her husband being a member of the AIP, which I could care less about, but is sort of relevant with some state republican office and right wing talk radio hammering Michelle Obama in the past for being unpatriotic. Nothing really more unpatriotic than belonging to a party who wants to secede from the US.
