Yup, I can totally understand it...and now what? Still living in London?

Haven't lived in the US for a long time.. Live in London but hold French passport (dual citizenship) Therefore no real need for US passport unless I want to go there and not be hassled with visa stuff! Only need it for emergencies (death within close family, or similar...) I'm also eligible for an English passport since I'm married to a Brit, parents and sister live in Brussels... More European than American!

It's the same for me. I made my decision clear to my employee in Florida. I don't want to go, so I am not going anymore. No more visa stuff for me...

you'll have no problem getting into australia. we let anybody in. that is so long as you aren't fleeing some war torn country in fear for your life and come in a boat that is threatening to sink at any moment. ;)

No way!!! Well.. it wasn't like that when I tried to immigrate there. They had these box tick thingys and it was a point system. I guess if I had been a pastry chef it would have been no problems.

The frustrating thing is that there were sooooo many jobs available when I went there (as a tourist). A friend of mine, who has his own company, wanted to hire me but he couldn't. I could have gone with work but the visa was only valid as long as I was working with the company (which was the European Commission). Didn't want to live in Canberra.

Eventually went there for three months travelling around. Told my parents I was gonna find myself an australian bloke and marry him.... They laughed as I wasn't staying anywhere more than a week.. and guess what??? I did find a guy there and I'm married to him... unfortunately he's british!!!!!! :D

This Sunday I was supposed to fly to Miami to work...

A friend of mine flies to the US regularly (she just got married to an American) and she says that in the last year they even started to reach under women's bra wires and into the panties at immigration. That means I can't go there as long as this stuff is in effect unless I want to end up in Quantanamo Bay because I broke someone's wrist in reflex. There's got to be a line somewhere...

What are you talking about? What as changed in the past few years domestically that you can't jump in your car and go to Portland, San Francisco, Vancouver, etc...? Even if you don't like to fly, maybe you need to get out more.

I've done plenty of travel this year mostly along the west coast, and have had a blast. Perhaps just your perception has turned to stink shit because you watch too much TV. Live a little.

I've lived for 8 months in the US and did not had any troubles travelling domestically...only the hassles travelling from another country to the USA...

Getting out of the USA is more easy though...
