How cool can sport sometimes be. The Iraqi team consists of Shi'as, Sunni's and Kurdish people...

Yeah i read about this. I also read that while everyone was celebrating them getting to the final in Iraq last week that 3 bombs went off killing dozens of people. It makes you lose hope for the country to be honest.
People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.

I hope this creates more unity in Iraq...nevertheless, the situation is still bad...

Haven't heard any reports of sick bastards shooting at partying people after the result last night.

Hope a miracle happens and they win the next world cup. That's the only way I can see this conflict ending.

This is great, they've had a good team for a while now.

this is great! its very nice to see them coming together as a country...if only for one day. But either way...its a team of all the ethnic groups in Iraq...so I think this would have to have some kind of positive effect. Especially considering they beat Saudi Arabia in the final...a country who is probably sending in more bombers then anyone to Iraq.

Finally some light shines upon the Iraqi people, at this point anything that can bring a smile to these people is fine by me.

Still... you know... not the smartest thing... going outside and firing your automatic weapons into the air in the middle of a Civil War/Military Occupation. In fact... kinda stupid, guys.
Now, I want you to celebrate... just not Detroit style... just go out and buy someone a drink. What? No alcohol? Well... how 'bout an big High Five and leave the Kalashnikov where you usually leave it... propped up in the corner of the kids room.

This should be a lead story in the national media. Something inspiring without any political spin for the people of Iraq. And how ironic is it that they beat Saudi Arabia?
