You've earned it, I'll give you that. Eight years of Bush, and now the moment belongs to you. My sincere congratulations. Just remember this though...no more excuses. You have the House, the Senate...and Obama. The slick talk and campaign are over, now we'll see what "hope and change" really mean...

    FUCK YEAH.

We can do this. I refuse to let the Dem control look anything remotely like George Bush's Doofus Show that was held for the past 8 years

Tough and long road ahead but nothing is impossible especially after these last 8 years.

Nothing is going to change... unless we, as a nation, CHOOSE to change. And the first thing that needs to change is to end this ridiculous fabricated, never-ending partisan political campaigning. We are Americans, first... Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative are labels that are way down in the list of our personal character. We need to get America back on the track that America should be on. And nothing is going to change any of that as long as we cling to these moronic labels that the television tells us we are.
America is at another crossroad. We have faced many tougher challenges in our past... a Civil War... a great Depression... deep racial divides. None of these challengs could have been over come if those Americans would have remained divided. No divided nation has ever overcome great obstacles. Only a UNITED people can overcome tough situations.
The Hope is that we can set aside these assinine political labels so we can Change from a divided nation and once again become united in what is best for our country as a whole.

I just want Obama to live up to the promise of what his election represents and the responsibilities of the office he earned.

I wish Obama luck and success. I have no hope that he'll find Pelosi or Reid particularly helpful or effective, but at least they won't have anymore excuses. Time for them to get off their asses and earn their paychecks.

Obama is clearly an upgrade from Bush, so even though I'm not a major party guy, I am glad the end of the Bush era is nigh.

Obama is fine. It is Reid and Pelosi that we must worry about. Hopefully Barack can stand up against the far left in his party, something that Bush could not do against the far right.

    And let me add...
If the Obama Administration makes the same types of inept decisions as the past Administration has made... you can bet the house that I will be right there... ranting and railing on those poor decisions. It is NOT his political affiliations that I will attack... it would be his poor decision making.
I would have... in fact I DID support President Bush in the decision to go after Bin Laden and al Qaeda in the Taliban safe-harbor of Afghanistan... but, his political affiliation and political labels had nothing to do with it. I would have spewed the same vemomous words had it been a Democrat ot Liberal that got us into Iraq.
I refuse to suck the cock of the political party that holds the power in this country. It just ain't my style.

I'm sure that wasn't east to say HHKC. There's no gloating because I remember how it felt 4 and 8 years ago when things didn't go the way I wanted.

We do need to get over this partisan crap. I do hope that Obama and the Dems work with the Repubs and get things done. Hopefully the dems have learned from the mistakes made by the Repubs, especially their bullying tactics. Otherwise they too will be voted out of office.

  • I don't care who wins the Presidency so long as there is balance in/with Congress.

There is no balance. This is bad. It'll be too easy for Barack to pas any legislation he wants, just like W. did for years.
  • Lib/Dem/Conservative/Republican... none of that matters now. It's time to drop the affiliations. We've got a new president coming in and everyone needs to support him whether you voted for him or not.

seriously, i don't see this as a victory for 'liberals' i see it as a victory for america. sure, many may not agree with that assessment, but it is what i believe. it is for the benefit of us all.

I had a nice long post but Cosmo said it better than I would have. My only hope is that Obama does his best and he truly tries to bridge the divide in this country. As was stated already, it doesn't matter who is in office, if the country is not united.

Now it's time for the REAL work to be done, and it can't rest on the shoulders of one man. All Americans are a part of the big picture. The people have the power. If we never want a repeat of the past eight years we will have to work to make sure of it.
