When is Youtube going to go public, and would it be a good investment decision to buy the initial public offering?
America...the greatest Country in the world.

Don't know, it's already pretty big. Google has google video as well, so they might try to downplay Youtube to boost their own platform.
It's hard to say, but Google is getting too big, and they make deals with communist governments.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire0 -

What? It's on record that they have. But anyway...google video sucks. they needed to get something better.0 -
You tube might have the same future as it had Napster!
It may break under tns of lawsuits as the Napster did!
There are tons of videos and commercials rolling in youTube and they have not got copyrights for showing them....

Me either. Although I did always wonder about how they showed all of that stuff.0 -

I like google video's scalability, I think that's what they were aiming for.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. its just the anti-everything attitude around here.
google is a smart company, they'll be just fine0 -
yahoo also makes deals with commies. If I'm not mistaken, they helped China track down a couple of "agitators" last year by giving the Chinese police the technology to trace e-mails.0

I think most people would rather watch (for example) the Daily Show/South Park on Comedy Central with commercial breaks than on YouTube.
I think it only increases the shows popularity. PJ's "Live at the Garden" is on YouTube, once people see the clips it will only make them want to buy the real DVD.
Napster was different bc you could actually have the high quality mp3 and put it on your iPod, listen to it in your car etc.
Either way I guess its copyright infringement...
Sorry- back to the original post: I would wait to see how these new agreements pan out first. (which they probably will before offering an IPO)The less you know, the more you believe.0 -

That's right, I remember them being at the hearing as well.
Because there is actually a law that U.S. companies aren't allowed to sell that kind of technology to China.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Straight up, I won't buy anything unless I've already, heard or seen it.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Music. I will not buy a whole cd unless I've heard it. too much shit out there.0 -

Exactly, they want you to buy a whole album 17 songs roughly, because 1 made it onto the radio. Meanwhile, the other 16 songs suck and your out $20 for something you could have downloaded for 15 cents.
I listened to this group called Massive Töne for years. I downloaded their music originally from Napster and then Kazaa. I like it a lot so I went to the music store to buy the CDs. Not suprisingly, I couldn't buy them because they are German and even HMV wouldn't import them.
So I was at a point where, I either download the music and listen to it Illegally, or I never listen to it. Finally, thanks to this board, I hooked up with someone in Germany that sent me the CDs for a nominal fee.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Another good thing is finding rare songs, live songs, and cover songs. I found a Megadeth cover of paranoid that had the funniest conversation at the end of it. But also I got the PJ unplugged performance, some live Zeppelin and lots of other shit. But yea dude. it seems like a lot of bands have that ONE song that sounds awsome so you buy the cd and not only is it the only good song...it's completely different than all of the other stuff.0 -
sounds familiar....

To elaborate on that a bit more. I downloaded this track called "Tool - new SUNTOWER - Catastrophe" and right away I knew it wasn't Tool. So after some hard searching, I found the band Suntower at Suntower.net
A small band from San Diego, independant label, and they kicked ass. I emailed the band, set up a tribute website for them and they sent me copies of their CDs and allowed me to make a video for them and post their lyrics as well as partial songs on my tribute site.
None of that would have happened without Napster. The band is dead now unfortunately. They were really good.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. damn. got any media I could sample from them?
Although it can lead you to some good finds, I hate it when the music is labeled wrong. I accidently downloaded a freebird cover...by a fucking barbershop quartet. (supposed to be phish...wanted to hear the solo). I've seen alot of crazy shit and too bad for me most of it's wrong.0 -

Sure, I don't have any MP3s right now, but I can encode a couple of songs from CD and throw them up on a torrent site. I'm sure the band won't care, seeing as they no longer exist. The lead singer Bryan Escobedoe is a cool guy too, I'm sure he wouldn't mind. Actually, I haven't talked to him in a while, maybe I will shoot him an e-mail and get his permission anyway.I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny.
