Am I just paranoid or do other people also wonder if these guys were doing some groundbreaking research that triggered someone evil to get rid of them. A laptop was stolen first and there were no signs of forced entry. Scary.

I've read that one of them was looking into DNA/protein and the other into bacteria that create ethanol that can be used for fuel? I'm not clever enough to know what that means. My writer's brain starts thinking of eternal life, curing illness and making fossil fuel redundant. But that's probably nothing to do with it. I wonder if we ever find out what they were EXACTLY researching.

The police are wondering if it was a case of mistaken identity... Hmm.

I'll dry up, leaving puddles on the ground

  • 243 stab wounds?!

    not exactly your average b&e

This scenario does not fall into the realm of normal by any means. You have to really really (really) hate someone to stab them that much, because after 50 or so it's pretty much just hacking away at a lifeless piece of meat out of wanton spite.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

I live in New Cross... :(

I want to know why this happened. If it's random, I'm gonna have to start watching my back more. The sheer level of violence seems so strange... why does a person risk getting caught just to stick a knife in a corpse another 100 times? Makes no sense.

well if that was the case we'll never ever ever know... never thought of that. 243 times?????????? Wow... you'd really have to hate someone to do that... or is that just how it was intended to look?

I'm sorry, but I don't buy that a lone, crazed druggie tied up two, fit, adult men and tortured them for hours for their PIN numbers, then knifed them to shreds before dousing their bodies with accelerant. The theft of the laptop a few days before and that of several mobiles during the fatal incident just make things look a bit dodgy. As for the theft of the playstation, though, well, your guess is as good as mine.

The economy has polarized to the point where the wealthiest 10% now own 85% of the nation’s wealth. Never before have the bottom 90% been so highly indebted, so dependent on the wealthy.
