If you haven't seen this I highly recommend it. Very informative as to what the problems are and also, more importantly a part on HOW to fix this sad state that we're in.

I watched Alex Jones on youtube try to discredit this movie- he doesn't support it, yet he still managed to agree with almost everything in it.

The money stuff was interesting. The sales pitch for the Utopian society seemed a little far-fetched.

ahh thanks, should have done a search.

yeah great movie, very good ideas.
  • A world with no money is just another sham.
    :(

    Hey commy,
i can do you one better though...
how about a world with no private property rights?

Wouldn't that be a more immediate redress of your grievances?

Markets will spring up where they serve expedience, black or otherwise.
But the strict abolition of property rights would bring us back closer to something approximating the native american communal experience.
    ???

    :D
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

back to the Native American communal existence is something I support 100%. combine that with the technology available today and I see no one going hungry, on one without healthcare, no one denied access to education, clothes or homes.

people tend to think that collectivism somehow goes against the nature of man, that it is in our nature to compete. while it may be true we are competetive, we are also very selfless. I don't think they agree with this in the movie, but I believe the type of society we live in is directly related to which part of the individual is encouraged.

In a profit motivated society, people are pitted against each other in a lifelong struggle for money, to compete in all parts of life. In a collectivist society, those things are provided for you, freeing up time to pursue other things...and as society progresses these pursuits will ultimately turn towards helping the community and those around you. If the community is put ahead of the individual, this transformation of thought will occur naturally.

to implement this collectivist society, do we force the vast amounts of people who oppose such a system into it, at great cost (death or imprisonment to those who resist?) while waiting for our progression, and for our minds to experience this transformation of thought, due to this system that is for our "good"?

As it as, vast amounts of us are currently forced into this system. I do not agree with that approach. I think education is the biggest weapon in this fight, another reason I like this movie so much. When enough people agree with the basic idea, I believe we will start to see fundamental change.

There will always be people opposed to any system, someone is always going to feel forced into something they don't agree with. Knowing that I think you try to come up with a system that is fair as possible for as many people as possible.

Yeah, but these folks are right. ;) I love how everybody else is wrong except the people who want to take over the world and turn it into a commune. New. World. Order. Soul 2 Soul has a piece of advice for anyone who thinks this shit is happening. That train on magnets was cool, though.
