    soooo, a year ago (2007) antiwar democrats voted to fund the war through 2009??? i wonder why these antir war democrats would vote for a war funding bill when he's so against the war as well as including provisions for $27 BILLION in unrelated, special interests!!! where was their leadership???


    actually i'm not surprised at all to see this thread drop w/o a reply

    Completely stopping funding would bring the situation to an even worse point. Many people vote for the funding and have plans on how to get out of the war with that money. You can't just drop it and walk away.

    You realize that that is an opinion just like me saying beginning a withdrawal today would make the situation better. They are both based on speculation, biased and conflicting reports, etc...

    nothing would be dropped for one thing and there obviously would be and already is money to fund a withdrawal (then maybe our tax dollars can fund better things?) i don't think a coalition of some arab nations, UN or international peacekeeping troops would make things worse.

    but we won't give up control of this region and its resources, that's why there's not too many other countries w/ troops over there, i know private contractors are in the top 3, if not 2, can't remember if the uk has more...

    wolfowitz said it in the 90's, pnac* said it in september of 2000; control of the region and its resources, go to their site and read it yourself.


    *a small point of interest - the guy who wrote that policy paper i'm refering to, rebuilding americas defenses, was written by a guy who supports obama, check out his book something like of paradise and power

    He's a member of Congress, but I catch your drift. He has a footing in politics and has for a long time.

    It really is amazing some spin machine hasn't kicked him out. I like the House. They get away with speaking their minds more than the Senate.
