Do you think sometimes he feel like the older stuff ie. Ten, Vitalogy in concert he is not apart of the "band" cause he wasn't involved in creating the so called "songs"?

Might be a dumb question but just came to mind when I was listening to Chile '05.

Second part of my discussion point is:

What would Matt do if Soundgarden wanted him back for a reunion tour?

I think hopefully he would say thanks but no thanks.

I'm probably in the minority but I'd sure as hell want to see that! Though the point is moot given where Mr. Cornell's head is these days...that reunion seems less and less likely. Not that it ever had much of a chance anyway

I could be wrong, but didn't Matt drum on the original Mamasan Trilogy sent to Ed?

Either way, he has been around for a long time and connected to PJ from the start.

He was the drummer on TOTG.

I think he accepted the job and became a band member and that's it. I don't think he has a higher calling to Soundgarden, even if they came calling.

Now that doesn't mean I think he would turn down a show, or shows, but I think he is Pearl Jam ALL the way.

That is what I gather.

If Matt left the band would probably break up. Eddie wouldn't be able to go on with someone other then his man crush behind the kit.

He is the longest lasting drummer they ever had. Im sure in 98 and 2000 he felt a tad weird playing those songs. (even though he played those songs the best during those tours) Id say he felt completely fine by 03 tour. He was always around them though, He played on the demo tapes, he was their for TOTD, and they were all friends with eachother. I think its pretty clear that Matt should've been their drummer from the start. (even though he played better in SG) If matt was to reunite with SGasked im sure he would accept it. That wouldn't mean he quit PJ. I would really like to see that happen. Imagine SG opening for PJ. He would be in for a long night.

**back on topic** I think Matt just enjoys playing with the band, he had his own success when those albums were made so i'm sure he's not really feeling "not a part of the band". He plays like he enjoys every song!

yup, matt is the man right now....it's obvious that the band enjoys matt being in charge of the skins.
