the truth? I watch the #1 most watched new channel in the country for 5 years in a row. The fair and balanced Fox News Channel. I just found out I have been brainwashed. I'm kinda upset about it, I apologize.

Why do you hold people to a standard higher than you're willing to accept? This is not the first time over the course of a week that you've complained about someone being insulting, and yet you've built your board reputation on that very tactic.

Upset, I should say so!!! I been watching Fox for longer than that. I like to tune in for a few minutes in the morning just to make sure it's safe to leave the house, and what's this I'm being BRAINWASHED. Well I gotta tell you I'm just flat out PISSED. Frankly, I am just as shocked as you are. But now it's all starting to make sense, why I take issue with so many posts here, yeah like oh oh oh God my head huuuurts.

You must have missed the part where I mentioned that it was you who built the board rep, not I. Reading comprehension 101. I just found it laughingly hypocritical for you to act offended by someone posting something insulting. Unless you're the type who can dish it out, but not take it.

Well of the many that I read, I would disagree with two of the points, because, 1) I work in the medical industry and 2) i come from one of the countries mentioned.

I know that the pharmaceutical industry initially was based on treatment as was medicine in general but there are many drugs that millions are spent on researching for the prevention of disease. Off the top of my head the biggest ones would be the Statins, a group of drugs that were designed to lower cholesterol levels and therefore prevent heart disease and stroke. Another group of drugs are the blood thinning drugs, used to prvent strokes and the like.

As for the free trade = slave wages, I can't speak for all the other countries on the list, but regarding Malaysia, US companies that set up shop there pay much better salaries and offer better perks than many local ones. Granted, they may not be as high as the wage for a person in a similar job in america but they're still very competitive for the local economy.

hmm, that must be why generic aids drugs are blocked from being sold in third world countries...

isn't far more money spent on advertising drugs than researching them? sure, there are some good things being done, but as an avg which do you think it is? what does your tv tell you?

and what of the places where the workers get paid a few pennies? if they talk or do anything wrong they can have a day or more pay taken away? again, you can't point at a tiny fraction and say 'but hey, that doesn't look so bad!' you really can't argue that point when the majority is the opposite.

as for the media, i would assume they meant mass media, as in the majority of what ppl see: tv and a few papers, maybe some magazines. but i bet the majority of the us gets its news from the tv.

and if you work thru other companies these owners are involved in it usually ends up in the military. shit, look at what ge owns and they sold weapons to hitler even AFTER we were fighting!

    FOX:

•Bible. a scavenger, perhaps the jackal. Psalms 63:10; Lam. 5:18.
    •to deceive or trick.
    •Obsolete. to intoxicate or befuddle.
    •to act cunningly or craftily.

    And my own definition:

A network of a$$holes that lies, cheats and steals, causes sensationalism and mass hysteria to push the political agenda of Ruper Murdoch and captivate the masses into a totally hipnotic state where their brains become mush.

I guess this shows the great chasm between definition and actions of a liberal.

Well, I could call myself a One-eyed One-horned Flying Purple People Eater, but I'm not purple, I have two eyes, no horns and I don't eat people. So technically, I'm not a One-eyed, One-horned Flying Purple People Eater. I just call myself that.
