    I know! They didn't have to cut them up and treat those people like they were worthless. I thought police were supposed to protect, not make life even harder!

    Fire hazard? Fire Hazard to who? the people without shelter who now have to sleep in the rain and elements?

    Who ever made this decision needs to be fired and these people need to be payed back for their loss. I say the public should give the police a big "fuck you" and keep donating tents to these homeless.

    I will give regard to the working stiff cops that carried out he deed, though some may have done it zealously, they were only following orders.


    To my knowledge and experience, these types of operations are carried out against the homeless on an 'as needed' basis in every good sized city in this country. Many times it will precede some sort of public event.

    Many communities do this to keep them from being in one area where the problem of homelessness can easily be seen, prefering to keep them scattered in small groups so the citizens dont realize how big a problem it really is.

    This wasn't one of those cases that I can see. This is surprising, to me, in that it made the news at all. This sort of thing is quite common everywhere in the US.
