    While I'm in musical heaven....

One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands.

I only wish Neil were more excited

    I miss the show!

Our neighbor is a sometimes rather obnoxious fellow...always talking loudly on his phone in French...like at 2am, or on the elevator, or walking down the hall. Every time we hear him, we start singing Foux de Fafa.

    "ahhhahhh...Camembert...Jacques Cousteau...une baguette!"

    Changes come
    Keep your dignity
    Take the high road
    Take it like a man

This is one of a couple of songs tied to Danny's mom, both before and after she died - lessons she taught him, both intentionally and not.

    Beautiful message, I do believe.

Woke up early this morning in tears from my back hurting. Got up, sweetie passed me a fresh bowl and we spent some quiet time watching George (one of our feline blessings) entertain himself. How he still doesn't grasp that the tail he chases is attached to him, I'll never get. Silly boy.

Then, music. Perfect Sunday morning music.

    How it's needed.

    How it soothes.

Shannon makes me want to wrap him warm and tight in a blanket and give him a big bowl of tomato soup.

...and write my words on the face of today.

    Holier Than Thou

    No more
The crap rolls out your mouth again
Haven't changed, your brain is still gelatin
Little whispers circle around your head
Why don't you worry about yourself instead?

Who are you? Where ya been? Where ya from?
Gossip burning on the tip of your tongue
You lie so much you believe yourself
Judge not lest ye be judged yourself

    Holier than thou
    You are
    Holier than thou
    You are

    You know not

Before you judge me, take a look at you
Can't you find something better to do?
Point the finger, slow to understand
Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand

It's not who you are, it's who you know
Others' lives are the basis of your own
Burn your bridges and build them back with wealth
Judge not lest ye be judged yourself

    Holier than thou
    You are
    Holier than thou
    You are

    You know not

    Who the hell are you?

Ha! Reminds me of Tool's The Pot (and to your question, very likely yes - said the potential hypocrite ;) )

Who are you to wave your finger?
You must have been outta your head
Eye hole deep in muddy waters
    You practically raised the dead

Rob the grave to snow the cradle
    Then burn the evidence down
Soapbox house of cards and glass so
Don't go tossin' your stones around

    You must have been high
    You must have been high
    You must have been

Foot in mouth and head up ass-hole
    Whatcha talkin' 'bout?
Difficult to dance 'round this one
'til you pull it out, boy

You must have been so high
You must have been so high

Steal, borrow, refer, save your shady inference
Kangaroo done hung the juror with the innocent

Now you're weeping shades of cozened indigo
Got lemon juice up in your eye
When you pissed all over my black kettle

You must have been high high
You must have been high high

Who are you to wave your finger?
    So full of it
Eye balls deep in muddy waters
    Fuckin' hypocrite

Liar, lawyer; mirror show me, what's the difference?
Kangaroo done hung the guilty with the innocent

Now you're weeping shades of cozened indigo
Got lemon juice up in your eye, eye
When you pissed all over my black kettle
    You must've been...

So who are you to wave your finger?
Who are you to wave your fatty fingers at me?
You must have been out your mind

    Weepin' shades of indigo
    Trapped without a reason
    Weepin' shades of indigo

Liar, lawyer; mirror for ya', what's the difference?
Kangaroo be stoned. He's guilty as the government

Now you're weeping shades of cozened indigo
Got lemon juice up in your eye, eye
Now when you pissed all over my black kettle

    You must've been
    High
    High
    High
    High

    Eyeballs deep in muddy waters
Your balls deep in muddy waters
    Ganja Please
You must have been out your mind

    I've walked down high streets
    looking through windows.
I've been lost in crowds of strangers.
Searched record shops and cosmetic aisles,
phone books, want ads, bus stops and libraries.
    Newspaper headlines, mannequin faces,
    television stations, billboard advertisements.
Your voice echoes in the back of my mind.
I see your face when I close my eyes.

Do you share the same sense of defeat?
Have you realized all the things you'll never be?
    Ideals turn to resentment,
open minds closed up with cynicism.
I've got no judgement for you.
Come on and ache with me.
Come on and ache with me.

    Through bar rooms, cafés,
    jail cells and court rooms.
    Theaters, restaurants,
    graveyards and churches.
I've spent every dollar that I've ever earned.
I'll bleed my heart out, I'll give every word.
I've asked preachers, doctors and lawyers,
    socialites, pariahs, mothers and fathers.
You may not find all that you're after,
in the end I hope it doesn't matter.

Do you share the same sense of defeat?

Oh, I dig me some Frank. (and maybe "Ain't This a Kick" would've worked too)

Too bad you hate Tool; lots of good - nay, amazing - stuff there. Lyrically, musically, all-around.

Just pry open that third eye ;)
