Or they actually support Obama taking power, and wish to sway results in that direction by claiming that they actually support McCain.

Exactly what I was going to say.

You think they are stupid enough to think thier outward pledge of support is going to help McCain? lol

Indeed ... I think they are insane, but pretty far from stupid. If indeed McCain is such a warhawk compared to Obama (debatable, methinks, but whatever), why would they want him to win the election? Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan place a huge strain on Al Qaida manpower and resources. They are probably dying for a chance to regroup, train/indoctrinate more personnel, get more weapons from Iran, etc.

Perhaps ... Their ideology has gathered steam, even if militarily they've lost a lot of people.

This is how I see it. The continuation of these policies toward the Middle East only bolster their cause and give it more credibility. It also separates the US from International support.

Still begs the question of why Al Qaida would publically state this, and thereby increase the chances that Obama wins. Seriously ... If Obama's foreign policy changes would ultimately weaken them, why would they come out and endorse McCain?

well, at least it's a comeback for Alan Combes EVERY time Sean Hannity says Hammas supports Obama ... like either of them actually matter.

Maybe they're just yanking your chain? You know, to spread confusion among the American people.

I don't know about that. Two things...

    1. They had complete control of a country. Now they no longer do.
    2. They clearly had a much greater compacity to strike us, which they have not done in quite some time.

But, we shall see how Obama handles all of this.

Um, if indeed Obama would be the worse outcome for them, this is an exceedingly stupid way to spread confusion.

Who asked for their opinion? This is our election, not theirs.

Didn't al Qaeda (bin Laden) endorse John Kerry in 2004? At least, according to some 'news' sources they(he) did.
Wouldn't that have meant they really endorsed Bush?

Maybe ... Either way, they flip-flop as badly as everyone else does, apparently.

I know... anyone who factors Al Qaeda's endorsement into their decision on who to vote for (either way) is... well... an asshole.

Taking for granted these people are inhuman don't want any type of resolution whatsoever.

That's the sales pitch floating around these days.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Their behavior doesn't do enough to debunk the notion, I am afraid.
