is it too much to ask that my government grow a spine? it has been decided that there will be no official function for the dalai lama when he visits australia in june.
the reason: the concern over international sensitivies.
what this really means is the austrailian government doesn't want to put the chinese government offside by acknowledging his holiness.
so let's simply forget the human rights abuses by the chinese government, allow them to continue to dessimate tibet and by all means continue trading with them.
hear my name
take a good look
this could be the day
hold my hand
lie beside me
i just need to say

If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Yeah, its pretty pathetic. But surely you couldn't expect anything else from this government? We wouldn't want China to stop buying our coal now would we?

Really when you think about it, its the Dalai Lama's fault. He should commercialise a bit more. Build up a decent stock portfolio. Maybe come up with some programmes for Tibet that will involve buying australian uranium or something. He should know that he needs that big dollar sign above his head to get any respect from Johnny.
It doesn't matter if you're male, female, or confused; black, white, brown, red, green, yellow; gay, lesbian; redneck cop, stoned; ugly; military style, doggy style; fat, rich or poor; vegetarian or cannibal; bum, hippie, virgin; famous or drunk-you're either an asshole or you're not!
