and their boats landed in the new land and they raped; bullied and stole the land. they called the ones living here peacefully savages and moved to kill them off. now almost 300 years later the earth is dying because of their progress. people are still starving. did they bring progress; or did they only bring death?

i would say it depends on how one measures progress.
