  • one of my favorite local races involves democrat Glenn Anderson and Republican Incumbant Laura Toy.

    I tend to vote republican.

    One of Andersons "attack" ads mentions that Laura Toy skipped 438 votes. Not good in the least, but this guys a jack ass, so it wasnt enough to make me not vote for her (my state needs a little more pro business republicans- the SBT here is killing job growth)


    her ad in response points out that she missed the votes because she was taking care of her dying mother. For a split second i felt bad for her, and said "god, that guy is an asshole for pointing it out."



    and i thought about it some more. I will not be voting for her.. not because of his had... but because of her own. Yes, its admirable that she was taking care of her mother... but she was voted in to do a job, and to represent me, and a lot of other people. She accepted a job serving the public.. and if my mom was so sick and I had to take care of her... I would step aside from my job so it could still get done.
