No doubt its a legitimate issue, and I would never question or demean anyone's priorities or top issues, but I fear once again, those in iraq and Afghanistan are being forgotten again...

In 2004, we werent discussing iraq we discussed vietnam

in 2008 we didnt discuss the two wars we are engaged in, two of the longest wars in american history, we discussed the economy, jeremiah wright and bill ayers. we discussed mccains pow experience in vietnam

Anyone find this rather odd? I too went from being active in the antiwar movement to being more reflective and less interested in politics. Whats interesting in it seems I am not the only person who has changed.

Iraq was front page news for years, was THE ISSUE. And then suddenly, as even bush acknowldges "america turned inward". This mirrors almost completely my own personal growth, and what happened during the vietnam war, as throughout the sixties people got more and more radical and politicized, but then near the end, in the 70's, people spent that decade relaxing, retreating, not paying attention to politics but rather focusing on themselves.

very interesting how things come full circle

how is it that such a gross and insane and illegal war is on the back burner? My mind hurts to think about how those soldiers would feel, neglected, fighting a war that no one agrees with, sent home under obama, and then called back up again, to fight a war in afghanistan...
