There really is no basis for the notion that a guy/gal who cheats on his wife/husband is of less overall character, than, those who don't cheat.

Marriage...sexuality.....fidelity ...these are just a small part of a human beings lives and character.

Certainly there have been millions upon millions of faithful (to their spouses) human beings, who have done horrible, terrible things to other people; which were not sexually/infidelity-related.

And plenty of human beings who have had problems remaining faithful to their spouses, do a ton a wonderful things for their community and other people.

Maybe John Edwards had wants and needs as well. Wants and needs his sick wife was incapable of delivering. But what's love to you may be different to me or someone else. It's mutually exclusive throughout all relationships.

It's no one else's business... No one.

If they have it worked out (long before this became a story).... Then what should it matter?

If he tells a lie about it.... So what... he or she either one should not be accountable for it to anyone outside of all involved.

If we chose to hang everyone that ever had an affair we wouldn't have enough rope.... and a whole bunch of those people from the high ground would start lying as well...

people's personal relationships are just that, personal. obviously if one crosses the line of abuse, that is something else entirely. beyond that, not breaking any laws of the nation, all else is his own conscience. it is he and his wife, and whomever else involved, who have to live it and make their own choices. there ARe all kinds of relationships, many that 'work' well for those involved. there are also many traditional marriages, sans affairs, that may well be far more miserable, so who am i, or you, to judge someone else's choices in their own relationships?


beyond that, i find it naive at best to simply focus on that politicans lie. truly. ALL people lie. and to say they don't, is a lie. NO one speaks the truth 100% of the time. sure, most of it may be inconsequential, like telling someone they look good when asked, when in reality you think anything but....point is, we all lie. not condoning liying in general, and most especially not when it affects a country, the world, in anegative way...but this? no one's feckin' business.
