Evidently others feel Obama could be assassinated as well

...and every other president apparently. I can't think of one who actually has ridden around in a bullet top in the US. In fact, I'm pretty sure they typically don't. So, I don't see how it's reasonable to say that the Secret Service intentionally kept JFK from parading under cover of plexi-glass being that there's no reason why they would have in the first place.

    Oh really?

The SSX-100 ... Kennedy's Lincoln Continental Limo ... the 1:00 mark and the 2:17 mark.
Then came a truly unique series of events. Here is the published account by the on-site reporter.

Just before the plane was scheduled to leave Fort Worth for the short flight to Dallas, the rewrite man, Stan Weinberg, asked me if the bubble top was going to be on the presidential limousine. It would help to know now, he said, before he wrote the story later under pressure. It had been raining early that morning, and there was some uncertainty about it.

I told Stan that I would find it. I put the phone down and walked over to a small ramp where the motorcade limousines were being held in waiting. I spotted Forrest Sorels, the agent in charge of the Dallas Secret Service office. I knew Mr. Sorrels fairly well, because I was then the regular federal beat reporter. . . .

I looked down the ramp. The bubble top was on the president’s car.

Rewrite wants to know if the bubble top’s going to stay on, I said to Mr. Sorrels, a man of fifty or so who wore dignified glasses and resembled a preacher or bank president.

He looked at the sky and then hollered over at one of his agents holding a two-way radio in his hand. What about the weather downtown? he asked the agent.

The agent talked into his radio for a few seconds, then listened. Clear, he hollered back.

Mr. Sorrels yelled back at the agents standing by the car: "Take off the bubble top!"

Just over twelve hours later, I was part of the bedlam at the Dallas police station along with hundreds of other reporters. I went into the police chief’s outer office to await the breakup of a meeting in Chief Jesse Curry’s main office. I had no idea who was in there.

The door opened and out walked several men. One of them was Forrest Sorrels. He looked tired and sad. And bewildered. He saw me and I moved toward him. His eyes were wet. He paused briefly, shook his head slightly and whispered, "Take off the bubble top."

The claim is USUALY that Kennedy ordered the removal of that top directly in Dallas.

Doesn't seem that is the case.
    Innocent act or not.

    Just interesting.
    So is this.

    :D

Switch camps? WTF are you talking about? BTW I was born and raised in the bay area and have been supporting Obama since last year.

Times of India is you source on the US primaries? awesome ...

Need more time to make up their minds? Again WTF are you talking about? If you are going to vote early and it's Clinton and Obama on the ballot and you dont know who Obama is or what he really stands for then you vote for the name you know. Clinton... she had the overwhelming majority of the early voting in California, AND if you pulled your head out of your ass long enough to watch exit polling the only group Hillary has the greater support in is old poor white women...

Early voting in California began in January. Democratic debates have been going on since April 2007. A person would have to be living under a rock to have only started paying attention in the last month or so.

Here are the msnbc exit polls. If you have a better source, post it:

As you can see, the minorities clearly went for Hillary.

If you are really from San Francisco, then you really have no excuse for being so uninformed about what's going on in your state.

I only read the title of this thread... but it got me thinking.

Do you think no one tried to assassinate Bush because they thought he was such a doofus he would eventually do something to kill himself?

    The Sentence Above Is False

That bubble-top was not designed to deflect bullets, but to block the rain. The fact that it was on the presidential limousine that morning because of the rain, and then removed after the rain had stopped, makes the possibility of its intentional removal due to a conspiracy remote.

If the secret service had planned the assassination before-hand, the bubble-top wouldn't have been on there in the first place.

Not everyone is a political expert like you obviously are... not everyone watches debates. I've only been able to catch a few of the most recent ones.

This is my point that you are completely ignoring. Look at the most recent primaries, minorities are not staying with Clinton. As you said California started voting in January, as you can see here most of the state had not gotten a good look at Obama. You want to pretend that every voter is educated and up to date with debates... sorry to burst your bubble but they just aren't.

When he started campaigning more there, running ads, giving speeches and receiving more media coverage his numbers jumped, and Hillary's started sinking. If California was held a week later than it was there would have been a much different outcome. AGAIN since you seem to be really slow with this... The reason Hillary won is because of the early voters. People had it in there heads that they were going to vote for Hillary before Iowa happened and did so. Hold that primary now? She gets creamed...

Hillary is still in the lead in those polls. Also, they don't delineate between whites and minorities in that poll, so one can just as easily assume that more whites are participating than before.

One doesn't have to be politics-savvy to watch CNN and read the newspaper. Just because you got caught up with your pre-algebra homework doesn't mean the rest of the world is just as busy.

What are you talking about? There have not been any polls there since the primary. In a country where barely 50% of the public votes in the presidential elections you really think most voters spend the time to become informed during the primary unless it is plastered on their TVs? NO. You can see what is happening in Texas where there is a huge Hispanic population. They have had the opportunity to see Obama win 11 in a row and get huge amounts of media coverage. Same thing was happening in California. With more time the minorities and others that had not yet voted would have switched to Obama, we have seen it happen in all of the other primaries. As I said before the only group Hillary has left is uneducated poor white women...

Again, you haven't posted anything that delineates between race, so basically none of what you're saying above has any meaning.

Sad, really, that you need the obvious pointed out to you again and again while you try to weazle your way around puttig your own foot in your mouth because you like to open it without putting much thought into what you're saying.

I've had to spend the last several posts just spoon feeding you common sense. Don't you feel bad about wasting peoples' time like that?

    Two things came to mind:

BO: "I want to end the mindset that got us into the war". As in the living in fear.

EV: "This song is about personal safety" (I am mine begins)
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.
