They act like they are "new era" politicians who care about the people.

Its been clear to me for awhile. They and everyone else save Kucinich doesnt give a DAMN about the people and the war.

They are all liars.

Two song quotes come to mind, the great John Fogerty;s classic "five year plans and new deals wrapped in golden chains, still I wonder, Who'll stop the rain"

and dave grohl, "to keep you in the dark you know they all pretend"

Nothings going to change with a Obama or Hilary in the whitehouse. Troops will still die.

One must realize they still believe fighting terrorism can be done

  • How come you spare Kucinich and not Ron Paul?

You should be more respectful of our next president.

He likes you and wants you to be happy.

Oh come on, this is a bit old don't you think? Thinking that fighting terrorism by sending an army in 2 countries is stupid does not mean "I hate america".
I think what the original poster meant is that terrorism is an ideology not a defined enemy, and killing a bunch of arabs in a far away foreign country isn't going to make that threat disappear. And you can think that way and still love apple pie and the star spangled banner.

because they want the republicans out of office and they think this is the best the democrats can produce.
like the last few elections; our decisions will not be for who's the best person; but who we have to keep out of office.

oh yea; i'm reminded of a song too:

    YOU FILL THIS HOUSE WITH THINGS OF GOLD WHILE THROWING CRUMBS TO THE OLD AND POOR; THEN YOU TALK ABOUT BEING PURE; AND WONDER WHY WE'RE LAUGHING. IN YOUR OLD WAYS YOU TRY TO FIND US; BUT WE CAN'T FOLLOW WHAT'S BEHIND US;

You don't think that by and large, every time you kill an "insurgent" or a "terrorist", that mans children become vehmenent supporters of the same cause?

How can you defeat that kind of ideology?

They hate us because we think we are the kings of the world.

Once we get it through our oh-so-thick skulls that we can NOT impose our will on the entire fucking globe with out "blowback", we MAY have a chance of staying at the top of the race.

Otherwise, we are in for deep shit in the next 20 years.

Networked "terrorism" is only in its infancy.

We've gone, what, 5 years now in our fight against it?

Does it show signs of weakening to you?

It seems like it is getting worse, if you ask me.

    By the way,
how is the "War on Drugs" going?

    actually, yeah.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
  • actually, yeah.
    The New York Times disagrees.

So do plenty of other sources.
Google: "Terrorism on the Rise", among other searches, to see for yourself.

    :(

Did we not learn that violence alone is not enough to disuade violence in the face of rising crime in America despite a death penalty?

Changing peoples behaviors is a matter best dealt with by changing culture by using influences other than force.

Maybe we could trade with them, alter our own behaviors as to not insite such animosity, deal more fairly with other nations, and respect culture-differences, mind our own business, and not bully the world in to compliance with our will.

"The Greedy American" is a reputation that the USA has built up only in the last 100 years or less -- probably last 50. We could reverse it in 10 if we would just show we care more about compassion and cooperation, instead of dominance and wealth.

Surely being powerful and having wealth are important, but real wealth is internal to a country -- it is it's peoples own abilities and willingess to work and innovate -- and real power is being secure WITHIN your borders ... not exerting your muscle outside of your borders superfluously and actively seeking to EXTEND your borders.

The current plans for a 100 acre "Embassy" in the heart of Iraq's CAPITOL are a perfect example of America's currenty arrogance and ignorance which continue to illicit the hate of so many around the world.

And i can feel it coming so, once again, no i do not hate my country, i hate what a few have been allowed to get away with doing in the foresaken name of your and my country.
