Kucinich is the ONLY candidate who voted against the war in 2002. He is the ONLY candidate calling for cutting all funding and pulling out immediately. He is the ONLY candidate for gay marriage. He is the only candidate who is truely an environmentalist.

Yet Kucinich doesnt get squat in terms of attention.

I am for ending the war. I am for true change.

If you want simple reform, changing a few laws, reversing a few things. By all means, vote Hilary and Obama.

But come on people!

The only candidate for ending the war immediately is Kucinich.

As far as I am concerned, a vote for Obama and hilary equals a vote for more war. Neither are willing to say they wouldnt start wars with iran and north korea.

Is pulling out of iraq and moving troops into iran and north korea really that big a change from Bush?

A vote for Kucinich is a vote to bring the troops home

A vote for any other of the candidates barring Gravel, is a vote to continue on the Bush path.

you'll need more than just a president who wants to bring them home, you'll need a congress behind him (esp to end it now) 2008 will be interesting b/c I believe there are a lot of seats open in congress.

it pissed me off to no end how in the debates the two radicals gravel and kucinich are given fewer times to respond than the frontrunners Obama, hillary and edwards.

its unfair. We know about Obama and Edwards and clinton because they have the cash, they have the tv ads, they are on tv all the time. They are being funded in the campaign by multibillion dollar companies.

But Gravel and Kucinich arent. They are being funded by average citizens who are fed up with the same mealy mouthed candidates who always are nominated

Exactly! And it's so sad that it all boils down to who has the most money. What does that say about our democracy? And all the while, the media sits back and tells us who is accpetbale and who is 'electable'? How do they know?

I wouldn't exclude Bush being so powerful by then he just decides to stay as president and tell everyone to go f themselves, or the war on the people...uhm I mean "terror" is so ramped up by that point that people see it as necessity.

I'm not excluding it from being a very serious possibility. We all have some huge piles of shit to wade through in the unfolding saga that is being scripted before us.

Dennis Kucinich has been my choice from 2004 election. He's the only one candidate who could think of creating a Department for Peace. Also he has great taste in music, especially in his love of Michael Franti and Spearhead.

There's something special in just that alone.

    160pxdenniskucinich460f9jp.jpg
Dennis John Kucinich (born October 8, 1946) is an American politician of the Democratic party. He served as the 53rd mayor of Cleveland, Ohio from 1977 to 1979, a tumultuous term in which he survived a recall election and the city defaulted during a political battle over sale of the municipal electric utility. He today serves as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, for the 10th District of Ohio. He ran for President of the United States in 2004 and has announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for President in 2008. He is currently the chairman of the Domestic Policy Subcommittee of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

    Personal details
Kucinich was born in Cleveland as the eldest of the seven children of Frank and Virginia Kucinich. His Croatian father was a semi-trailer truck driver; his Irish American mother, a homemaker.[1] In 1973, he graduated from Case Western Reserve University with both a BA, and an MA.[2] Kucinich is a Roman Catholic and an environmentalist. He is twice-divorced, with a daughter, Jackie, from his marriage to Sandra Lee McCarthy and married his third wife, Elizabeth Harper, a British citizen, on August 21, 2005. He is one of few vegan politicians in the US.

Besides having a vegan diet, I've repeatedly heard him come on Democracy Now speaking the truth about this administration. Also I've heard him quote the lines "Bomb the World" from michael Franti which surprised Amy Goodman one morning. He's probably the only member from the House that has no trouble picking up a Spearhead album.

Did anyone hear him on the Spearhead album "Live in Alaska". He's white, not sure if he's wealthy but he will surely get my vote over anyone else including Mrs. Clinton. Waiting to hear her on Independant Radio and that goes for the other candidates too.

Oh will this country ever vote a woman or a minority into the Presidential office, maybe when or if this country falls flat on it's face.

    His platform[14] for 2008 includes:

Creating a single-payer system of universal health care that provides full coverage for all Americans.
The immediate withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq and replacing them with an international security force.
Guaranteed quality education for all, including free pre-kindergarten and college for all who want it.
Immediate withdrawal from the WTO ( World Trade Organization )and NAFTA ( North America Free Trade Agreement).
    Repealing the USA PATRIOT Act.
Fostering a world of international cooperation.
    Abolishing the death penalty.
    Environmental renewal and clean energy.
Preventing the privatization of social security.
Providing full social security benefits at age 65.
Creating a cabinet-level "Department of Peace"
Ratifying the ABM Treaty and the Kyoto Protocol.
Introducing reforms to bring about instant-runoff voting.
Protecting a woman's right to choose while decreasing the number of abortions performed in the U.S.
    Ending the war on drugs.
    Legalizing same-sex marriage.
Creating a balance between workers and corporations.
Restoring rural communities and family farms.

    The Kucinich Plan For Iraq
On January 8, 2007 Dennis Kucinich unveiled his comprehensive exit plan to bring the troops home and stabilize Iraq. [6] The Plan includes the following steps:

    1) The U.S. announces it will end the occupation, close the military bases, and withdraw.

    2) The U.S. announces that it will use existing funds to bring the troops home and the necessary equipment home.

    3) We will order a simultaneous return of all U.S. contractors to the United States and turn over the contracting work to the Iraqi government.

    4) We'll convene a regional conference for the purpose of developing a security and stabilization force for Iraq.

    5) Prepare an international security peacekeeping force to move in, replacing U.S. troops, who then return home.

    6) Develop and fund a process of national reconciliation.

    7) We have to once again restart the programs for reconstructions and jobs for the Iraqi people.

    8) Reparations for the damage that's been done to the lives of Iraqis.

    9) Assuring the political sovereignty of Iraq and making sure that their oil isn't stolen.

    10) Repairing the Iraqi economy.

    11) Economic sovereignty for Iraq. And,

    12) An international truth and reconciliation process, which establishes a policy of truth and reconciliation between the people of the United States and Iraq.
