Watching it right now. I've never heard much about that case before (just what I read on this board) though.

It makes me proud to say that I probably know more about that case than you do. I think if Eddie were in a situation where he had to choose between you and me for someone to hang out with, he'd choose me because I know more about this case.

Ok, so it's 3:00am and I have insomnia. I just happened to be flipping channels and saw part of the interview with Damien Echols. A friend gave me a book (Devil's Knot) about the WM3 for my birthday and I've found this case fascinating and heart-breaking.

For those that haven't seen the interview, Larry King mentions that EV has been a big supporter of Echols. Damien clarified that Ed has visited him in jail several times and has been great to him and his wife Laurie.

Additionally, Larry King mentioned that Damien even co-wrote a song on the Avocado album...but didn't say anything more about it. Does anyone know what song?

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Good for you  You are aware that not everyone on this board is from the US, right?

On a more mature note, the exposure the case got through Larry King probably helps put pressure on whoever has the power and responsibility to re-open the case.

I was asking myself the same thing when I watched it but I figured since I'm not an English native speaker maybe that was a medical expression. This is what wikipedia says about it:
    wikipedia wrote:
Mental retardation is a term for a pattern of persistently slow learning of basic motor and language skills ("milestones") during childhood, and a significantly below-normal global intellectual capacity as an adult. One common criterion for diagnosis of mental retardation is a tested intelligence quotient (IQ) of 70 or below and deficits in adaptive functioning.

People with mental retardation may be described as having developmental disabilities, global developmental delay, or learning difficulties.

    Class IQ
    Profound mental retardation Below 20
    Severe mental retardation 20–34
    Moderate mental retardation 35–49
    Mild mental retardation 50–69
    Borderline mental retardation 70–79

The article also talks about how different expressions are now used but I guess if they related to that IQ-table, it is correct.

That subject was covered extensively in the thread below:

    Here's Echols talking about PJ:

He goes to say that No Code was PJ's best album, but that the avocado album is OK because he co-wrote a song on it.
